Yeah, that's definitely better than the last portrait, especially in the eyes. Still needs work, but much better. I think you've got to work on overall brushstrokes, but getting better.

Good job for attempting an upward angle. Only thing is the jaw doesn't quite seem to match the angle, and the eyes don't either.

That's a solid amount of work brother.
On your digital paintings, you're doing a bit of over-modelling. try more subtle blends, so there is less of a 3D plastic look.
    Great improvement, seriously.

The last two are much better. The first is much smoother than earlier ones, and the B&W one just works, I think because the tones are limited and you have to be more clear. Also, can't have waste with too small brushstrokes.

    damn you're painting!
that's a hell of a lot more than what i'm doing right now.
how about a traditional self portrait with a focus on the structure of the face?
i like second, fifth, and sixth ones the most.
    good lighting/structure.

Hey man, these self portraits are a good effort, but I think for now you should get a hold of a copy of Hogarths anatomy and do a whole b bunch of head studies^^

Hey Demo, keep working on your selfportraits, andthose anatomy studies.

Your faces seem like you spent more time on the construction lines than the actual portrait, try a few sessions with minimal construction, and instead just paint exactly what you see as you see it. 100% opacity and flow, blend all on one layer. Might help you out.

Improving, and what's this try tommorrow thing? If you have time now, use it! Colour studies from reference, 30/60 second gestures, draw your hands, draw your feet, draw a giant crab fighting an angry bear, anything!

hey man, i like what you're doing here. cheers for painting so much. to help with form and structure and all, i would suggest painting simple shapes, working your way from cubes (or blocks) up to more complex shapes (spheres) and then on to much more complex, irregular shapes. lots of studies, and i would recommend starting in grayscale. this is all one thing that has reeeeeally helped me. g'luck dude, and keep working hard!!!

Purb yep yep thank u, i plan on keeping things pretty simple for a while gray scale, shapes, simple co,lor scheams that kind of thing hopefully it will pay of i think it has a little

Pijus im trying to keep my studies up a lot more if you wana begreat and get somewhere its time to do it right im not really that paitent sometimes i dont think i would ever have the paitiance to do a fully renderd picec the way i want, but maybe its cause i do all kinds of art things all day now and am getting a little burnt out.
i think we can clear up the SSG challang on facebook easier then on pms ill try to tlk about it tomorrow.
