Woah Rooster! Thank you mate, means a lot to me coming from such a bad ass sculptor! And yeah, a lot of scale work.. I'm not sure I've done a good enough job on the scales though. I've changed them ever so slightly now, not so sharp looking and just a teensy bit rounded off.

By the way, where do you keep all your sculpts? They're huge! Mine are in this teeny tiny room/shed-ish type of thing!

Wow another comment from yet another bad ass! Thank you! And I am actually pretty pleased (for once) about how the wings are looking at the moment, although I gotta admit that they can be pretty awkward to make! I haven't had any time to do anymore on the sculpt since my last November update, but hopefully i'll gte it done after Crimbo (English slang for Christmas)

And yeah, I'd love t enter this one for Spectrum.. although I don't reckon it'll get in because it's just so bloody hard to get in. But I'll try!!!

I'm very grateful that you're finding this thread helpful! That's the aim! And I'm also glad that you're enjoying it too!

And yeah, I love making them quite big, and I use this clay called Super Sculpey which hardens with heat applied to it. The clay contains liquid plastic, so when it hardens it turns to plastic (kinda.)

But I don't think I have the enerhy it requires to carve out of stone, although it is a good idea!

Aw bless you my friend yer know.. there's nothing quite like seeing your own designs come to life in front of your eyes and in your hands. And from looking through your cool 3D work, don't you just wish sometimes that you could hold one of your designs in your hands too? I think you should go for it dude!

I know that this sculpt is taking forever.. I really do wish that I had more time on my hands!! So a big thanks to all of you for being so patient with me, and for taking the time to look through this thread.

And here's a little bit of detailing that I've been doing on the sculpt, as you can see, I've made some little improvements here and there..

I totally know what you mean about having to use Smelly's technique, but it's coz I'm making the scales stick out (if you know what I mean?) Coz, yeah man.. I'm making it harder for myself aren't I!!?? So yeah I agree, I am a crazy man lol

And yeah.. I've been a bit unsure of how to change that avatar thingy. I keep having to re-upload all the images from the very first post just so that the little thumbnail attachment will show up in the thread which is really tedious.. what am I doing wrong dude??!!

Ooooooooooooh....... (d'oh!) You have to excuse me brother, it's all that christmas/new years eve stuff that has knocked my brain out my ear lol

But yeah, I'm planning on doing the alcohol rubbing thingy after I've erm.. done a bit more scales. Heh. But yes, scales are a tough job especially when you're trying to make em the same size on both sides of the sculpt. And.. you are the "Master Scale Maker Creature Maker Dude" and it means a lot to me that you comment on my work my Jedi friend.

By the way, what's the next sculpt you're gonna make?? I can't wait!
