Hello and welcome to my sketchbook.
I've started doing some digital drawing/painting recently and I want to get better at it. Constructive criticism will be much appreciated.
I hope you will find something interesting here.
    Here we go.

Great face studies, the last one looks amazingly lively! On the coloured fishing scene, I think the water texture's a bit weird - it looks like a too big pattern to be in the same scale with the fisher and I think it should have more contrast on the foreground, like some dark spots under the jetty and hay, where there'd be shadows. It looks a bit flat to me with same contrast everywhere. I like the shore on the other side a lot though.

wow, the last face looks great. for how long have you been drawing (seems like you have quite some experience)?
I dont find something to criticize since you posted the last study.
I think the lake/fishing pic was from mind? then, as smuli said, the structure of the water is confusing, probably because there is too much detail which you could almost replace with areas without any detail (i.e. further away)

    Thanks guys for your replies.
Yeah the water in a fishing pic is kinda weird. I made that pic from photo and it was my first try at painting in color digitally. The water should have been more ripply less wavy I guess.
As for my drawing experience... I have been always scribbling something with a pen or pencil, but nothing serious ever came out of that. And I have almost zero experience with paints and color. So I need to work on many things to get better.
Ok, here's some sketch of a silly character from yesterday

Hello Misho! Curious where you're from, sounds eastern European

SB looks good for a start, I especially like the b&w portrait, it looks as if it was sculpted in 3d so you definitely did a good job on it.

Also this guy has a lot of potential: http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1193907160
I think you should color and shade him, it could make for a great artwork. Keep it up, looking forward to updates.

Thank you, n1va. I'm Russian. (I guess thats as far to the east as the Europe can get.)
Colouring the strange guy could be interesting. I think I'll give it a try.

Very nice stuff. That long B&W study looks amazingly realistic, and I love the Kwonho man. So animationy. Your paintings could use a little oomph to the colors. Try putting a little of each object's complementary color into your shadows. The basic rule: Warm light, cool shadow, cool light, warm shadow. Keep it up!
    ketchook!

Finally the colors. Didn't want to spend too much time on it, so it's kinda simple.
