    Smile I-NetGraFX - Sketchbook / Concepts / Environments

    Hi there!

I can't remember when I posted the last time in this forum.
It has been quite a while now...

I'd like to share some of my recent sketches and I'm very interested in hearing
your opinion. I mostly work in Photoshop CS2, once in a while I touch Corel Painter. Any kind of feedback is very welcome!
    Thanks for viewing!

Wow your environments are incredible! Your life drawings seem a bit stiff to me though. I think you should try to be a bit bolder with your strokes and try to concentrate more on getting the figures to look alive rather then the anatomy. I recommend blocking your figures in first with basic shapes with broad strokes and then going in and getting the anatomy and structure down. try to get the your hands and feet in there asap because they are the most important. Those and the face. I like the last one you have the best. it seems to have the most energy and is the most dynamic pose.

Can you teach me how you paint your environments like your futuristic, montreal stadium and cathedral painting? I would appreciate your help but I understand if your busy with work.

zerocforever: Thanks for your kind comment! I'm glad you like it!

Garrett Hanna: Thanks a lot for your helpful comment! The first time I went for lifedrawing I realized, how much I actually was in need to practice my drawing skills. As you see I feel more comfortable to do environment. paintings.I'm struggling often to get the right proportions. I got still a long way to go in this direction ...

antquin: Thx for your reply! I totally agree that my life drawings do not match at all my environment paintings. I started with it last year.
Eventhough I do not consider myself skilled on the lifedrawing part, I realized it helped me a lot to improve my painting skills.

zao75231: I have a videotutorial on my website: www.inetgrafx.com in the download section, including my photoshop brushset. I hope that helps.

Nice enviros' Some good anatomy sketches. Only crit really is be cautious of using 'tree' brushes, they can look a bit repetitive at times, other than that, keep it up dude, nice work :-)

Very skilled. In your enviro's where you have hundreds of trees. Did you just clone them and tweak them or are they all hand painted?

dsg, Thalion: Thanks for your kind comments!

RandAlThor, Rist: Thanks for your reply! For the trees in the environment, I basically painted just three versions of the tree and cloned them over the place. The good side of it, it went really fast, the downside of it, of course the repetitions. It would have taken me way longer if I would have individualized each tree for itself! Thanks for the helpful note!

    Hi there!

Haven't had much time for personal stuff lately.
Since I had to paint a lot at work, I often didn't felt like painting stuff at home. Maybe I'm just a bit demotivated lately

Anyhow I painted something very quick this evening, since I was kinda locked at home. ... friggin snowstorm in montreal.
I don't even know how much snow fell today. Maybe something like 60 centimeters within 12 hours?
I got somehow inspired by this white stuff and had to do something out of it ..

Watching my janitor carving labyrinthic ways thru the snow with a "souffleuse" and knowing I'll be back in Austria for skiing. I thought I might combine those two ideas to a conceptart

    Some facts about it:

    Software: Photoshop CS2
    Hardware: Wacom Intuos 2 A4
    Snow: 60 centimeter
    Temperature: -20 (a.k.a. minus fu$%)
Time: 57 minutes, with saving and exporting exactly 1 hour.
Tutorial: will follow, since I recorded my self for educational purposes
    Fun: Yes!

Count me as your fan from this moment onward. Incredible environments - the details are mesmerizing, and they have atmosphere. Heck, I got inspired to download Photoshop CS2 thanks to this thread ( I have been using Corel Painter X ), and I am going to check out your videos and brush-sets from your site.

    Can't wait to see more.
