    Arrow Acrylic Paintings: 1st Semester

Hello all, this is my first time posting here in the FF section, and the first time in so long that I have posted anything at all.

What I have here are the two paintings that I have done for my half semester painting class. Each is done in acrylic paint. I prefer oil paints personally, but acrylic was required for these projects.

This first one was done in over the course of 6 weeks, with 6 hours of studio per week. The subject matter consisted of 3 objects from a still life, a black and white matte medium transfer, a color matte medium transfer, stencil text, and a decal. 18" X 24" on canvas.

This next one was a huge undertaking for the amount of time available. The half semester is 8 weeks long, and with 6 of those down that left about a week and a half of working time. With that said, this self portrait is 40" X 72". It definitely pushed my skills, and was in fact a fun challenge. We had to include our self portrait, a map, stenciled text, something that we loved (playing guitar), a decal, a black and white matte medium transfer, a texture element (heavy gel medium), and a collage element (wire).

I hope you all enjoy. It was certainly a lot of fun making these, and even though I am not very experienced I feel that these turned out decently with the given time. Deadlines are a bitch, but you gotta work with them, like it or not. Also the photographs were not that great of quality, so apologies for that.

If anyone has any comments or criticism, I would greatly appreciate to hear it, good or bad. Thanks for looking.

Don't all speak at once. haha. These aren't traditional concept art fare, but I had a lot of fun making these, and they taught me a lot about acrylic paints. If anyone has any advice or general comments, let me know. I do want to go back sometime and fix somethings, so maybe in the future I can post some updated shots. Thanks all.

Hey man, I like your worth, i think acrylics are very hard to get used to!
like your first image because of its surreality (is that even a word? ^^)
the second is cool too! but maybe you oculd have even exagerated the pose you know? he seems kinda stiff to me maybe stretch is legs more, make him bend etiher down or "overbend" his back backwards to exaggerate it! anyhooo cool work man I'd love to see more!
