    OK people,

the truth about Robulus is, he is a whiner!
Everytime we see each other for a beer or two, he starts telling me that he's a shitty artist, that he's a lousy drawer, blah blah blah.
Rob, you shithead, your not only one of my best friends, you're also a very talented artist and if you don't stop whining in front of me the next time we see us, I'll blow your head off!
Look what people are paying attention to you, believe it already, you ignorant Superdude!

    Best

morbidhumor: Many thanks, yes I did have a reference pic.

A Oil Portrait Study in B/W after Ref.
I have posted this beforen in CA, but I think it fits now in my Sketchbook between the other portraits. I´ve done the study after I have read THIS BOOK.
I was very happy with the result because it was my third portrait I did in oil ever. Two nights, a lot of coffee, in about 6 hours.

    Here is a BIGGER version.

    Robolus,

I like those painted heads, a very nice feel to them, painting can be difficult but once you learn it you will be unstoppable.

Kortez: Thanks man! It´s a pity that you can´t come to Cologne, well maybe next time! :chug:

van, Dan. v. D., endregan, metalwinds: Many, many thanks guys!

ericdee: Haha, yep, good idea, CA rocks!

Targete: I´m glad you like them. I love to paint and draw but I have the feeling the better I become, the lesser I really know and the longer the way still is that I have to go.

    ...but that feeling is good!

magira: Ah, sorry, you´re right! These new sketches are for you:

this is some great stuff.. i especially like your brush pen work... the amimal characters are too cutesy for my liking, but then again, they have to be for that sort of client... nice to see a pro at it..

    Hi Robolus,

I really like the pendrawing in your last post of Mastercopies - seems I really have to do some, too as you proposed (You know my prob with time yaddayadda )

Your Funnies are interesting for me because I always try to find hints in drawingstyles about the region the drawer is coming from. These pics really look "german" to me, maybe with french influences. I suppose you´re a fan of Asterix?

Nice work as usual and I´m still feeling sorry that we couldn´t meet in Essen.

Marko: I´m not a big western Fan but they where fun to draw.

    Main Loop: Many thanks!

Fipse: Yes, you´re right! As a chield I was a big fan of the french and belgian comic masters like Franquin, Hergé and Uderzo - Heroes for me!

    Fun with the old masters:

Life drawings and no Ref sketches. Above left is a quick sketch of Suder who visited me today!

Wow... if one ever wanted to feel inferior...

Your work is amazing. I have one of the hogarth books and you have mastered the anatomy of those flawlessly. I think that he kind of exagurates (sp) some things in anatomy, but that may be just me.

Anyhow, you are just all around talented. You've got the cartoony stuff, and the realism, and everything. The line work and the shadows are incredible.

It's cool to be able to talk to professionals on this board, and I like that you post your processes. It helps to see how another artist starts their stuff and progresses.

    Inspired-

do i have to say it again? your stuff is so cool!
