Is the lower figure looking at the viewer for a reason?
I'm a bit tired, but I can't tell if the lower figure is coming out of the ground (like from a foxhole) or being stood on my the upper figure.
I'm assuming the latter.
You foreshortening is fine, but the placement of the shoulders is way off. A guy lying prone on the ground, facing us, will not have his shoulders in the same position as if he is standing.
I hope this demonstrates what I mean

check out the crotch of the standing man. you'll know what i mean, i hope![]()

Drawing #2 works a lot better in my opinion. The lower figure still needs work though. Are you using a reference?

Well there's your problem.nope all from my head
If you've never seen a person from that angle before (and how often you you get a worm's eye view of something like that?) then you can't be expected to recreate it in your mind unless you have a really REALLY firm grasp of anatomy and perspective.

Hey night,
I really like the idea for this pic. but i think your creating a world of pain for yourself by extending the picture below the horizon line. unless you want to add a 4th disappearing point and go for a bubble effect, i would keep the horozon line out of the picture.
To make the viewer beleive a picture i think you have to choose a point for the 'camera' and stick to, and a natural field of vision. unless your trying to create the feeling of massive size or something more abstract.
You asked on mirc how i would do it, sry didnt mean to change it this much but got carried away.
i didnt bother to fit the buildings into the perspective, but its not always necessary in high action scenes.
good luck with it!

haha that's awesome! thanks! But what i wanted to capture was the moment before anything happened-like the calm before the storm. Your paintover's great, lots of action and adrenaline. I'll use it as a reference though

Just a recommendation... I know all of your images are related to the same concept, however it's confusing to give a comment on all of them if you keep adding more. I would recommend sticking to one and looking for a picture reference to help you with the perspective. They are all strong, and I would like to see the finalized version once completed.

hehe damn you've been busy.
i still think you just making way too much work for yourself :p so i made a 'collage' out of 4 of your wip's
you could easily extend the picture to left and put a township in if you wanted to practice your landscapes.
hope it helps.

You probably should have spent some time on the olde pencil-on-paper "thumbnail' phase. That way you could have quickly worked out composition and concept ideas and quickly realize which ones you like and which ones you don't. You may think you are saving time by skipping straight to the final but you're not. You spent alot of time on rendering an idea that then changing your mind and switching ideas, If you instead put that time towards thumbnails you could of had hundreds of ideas and compositions thought out by now. Then all you have to do is pick the most successful one and polish it out. It will really save you time in the long run. Here is an example of the thumbnail phase... http://www.processrecess.com/?uid=CB2926#
