Great stuff! The vehicles are awesome. I hate drawing vehicles, so I need to do more. Good work on the figure studies, too. That's the important stuff. Keep it up!

thanks for all the kind words guys.

yes, sorry, not really an art update unfortunately... here's some sans of what i'm working on for school... it's construction site lighting. Really busy with the final review this coming weds which means 2 things:

firstly: massive art update enroute, expect concept renders, final sketch rendings, pictures of 3dprinted mockups, etc etc... THE WORKS

secondly: i'll have free time again... thus more painter and other... oh it's good to be graduating in december. w00t man

check it out- here's a little view into my mixed and rather irregular thought process

    thar be drawings here.

in an attempt to update this more frequently, i scribbled some things in the 'ol sketcher. go figure... how simple was that? I gather it wasn't too painless for you out there either now was it?

cool stuff man, I like the quality of your drawings.

The head of the robot chick isn't really doing it for me. it looks a bit flat and weird with those tubey things coming off the top. In contrast though I really like the hip area, I think you've drawn this superbly. Very solid.

    Keep it up!

nethus thanks for the imput. i agree her head is flat. my anatomy could use some work.

and what nicer way to illustrate this than with more awkward anatomy and stuff... in retrospect, this head is slightly less flat... i guess.

whatever i need to study more and scribble less... yeah that might help

scribbled some thumbnails during work, decided to digitize them a bit.

probably going to turn into something when i got the time. Slaveship transport or such... i'm thinking spanish inquisition of the future, one of my personal favorite topics. Ha...

good stuff i'm really liking the vehicles and all the hand studies. i also like your lighting on your digi paintings. all i can say is work more on anatomy and maybe some face studies as well. very nice stuff.

thesadpencil thanks for the word. as for anatomy i'm going to figure drawing sessions more often now, you should start seeing some of those popping up here and there as i get stuff i like. don't really want to overburden everyone with crappy warmup sketches heh...

starting to scribble any little thought i have as i'm doing other stuff. takes minimal amount of time and gives monster reward. Now i'm actually getting ideas on paper, which is a massive leap from what i had before.

anyhow. some thumbs for a composition i'm working out in my head and a little robot, harvester type thing for the IDW crop harvester thinger.

bunch of figure drawings done today, mostly 5 and 10min poses
using blue prismacolor on Bienfang graphics 360 (9x12)
most of the pages were doublesided, sorry for the ghosting.

also loaded a pic of the pens i usually use:
    blue prismacolor
    white prismacolor
    prismacolor cool grey 30%
    pilot v5
    ultra fine point sharpie
the SB is recycled tan-ish paper, fun to play w/ values on you should be able to find it at most art stores.

JJ McKool and XXITheWorld Thx for the comments. hopefully i answered your questions ^_^

great line quality in the figure drawings.

don't leave out the head though. even if you just indicate it with an oval shape or box shape or something. something to indicate it's direction and size is enough if you're short on time.

nethus thx for the comment. yeah i was pretty happy with how the lines on those turned out. i agree, i need to put the heads in. I also need to work in a medium that scans a little better. Blue prismacolor on translucent vellum is great for drawing but sucks for reproduction.

    -----------------------------------------------

hands fun. some from photos, some from me.
check out my watch yo! betcha can't guess what brand it is. HA!
more figures next time, maybe some robots too.

here's some figure drawings from the saturday session @ atelier
was focusing more on rendering this time around, in hindsight i should be focusing on proportions more. those are way, way, waaaay off. it's painful
if you're in the area i highly recommend you go, fun times are to be had.

also is a art crusade piece i'm working on. i'd say i'm like 20% done rendering, but you can get an idea where it's headed. comments & crits are welcome.

lovely drawings! A question: what kind of toned paper sketchbook are you using? I have been trying to find a good one for ages.
