I are agree. And this time actually finish them I take full responsibility for that.

And thanks for subscribing btw hehe. I shall return the favour (once I find out how).

These were moved from the first post in favour of the thread's thumbnail

    Hi,

I'm from Malaysia and like many others have been a long time lurker here. I was inspired to create my own sketchbook ever since my awesome friend and muse, gatling, did one herself not too long ago

In truth I was going to wait until I've made more drawings to post since I'm currently doing anatomy studies, then I remembered my comicy pencil work I made some several months ago this year. So here they are to give you guys a taste of things to come (although, my style has a way of changing drastically). I'll try to post more recent ones within a couple of days if I get the chance.

Not my best but I'm proud of them considering how much I've improved traditionally over the year before. I'm always open to more critiques, though.
Anywho, enjoy and thanks for looking!

    Concept - Grim Reaper

I can't believe I forgot to include this one before. It's an original concept of the grim reaper I made up for a contest over at Wacom Asia. While I didn't win anything, the tutorial I made for the finished product became a featured thing for a good long while. So that was cool.

Sorry everyone, still haven't gotten around to compiling my recent study works yet like I said I would, but I will next week. So, I've also included an experimental digital sketch I did a couple of months ago that I got a few giggles out of.

    Thumbs up Understanding Hands

Thanks a lot, guys. I'll try my best to keep this sketchbook up to date as regularly as possible.

Now here are some recent hand studies I did this month with ballpoint pen that I finally got around to scanning. At least 4 among them were done from photo references.

    Unreferenced Figure Sketches

Did these with a 4b graphite pencil. They didn't really scan well I'm afraid.

    Unreferenced Figure Sketches

Here is the female batch. I drew these after I was done with all of the above so I was sorta tired. Still, I really need to work on my drawing of ladies more often.

    Speedies - Week 1

I wanted to start getting used to using Painter IX more often, that's why I've begun doing these daily speedpaints (live refs, photo refs and one from scratch). Mostly it's to help pull myself away from relying on Photoshop's hue adjustments and the like to correct my colours.

wow, i must say, the ingenuity of an artist is probably the greatest thing this world can offer, mostly for the fact that there is an abundance of it, and it doesn't cost you a cent, well perhaps maybe 20$ in supplies or more, but hey.

creativity is the key to living, it is that which unlocks our doors to higher levels, taking compromise with us, and enduring the long struggles. my scanners broken so i can submit stuff.., but!~ i really like your work, its incredible, you've got a great eye for comic art, and your painting skill is intense!, i'm no painter, cant paint at all. so, congrats!.

keep at it, an artists work never ends, so long as he/she lives, their job is to paint, draw, imagine the road ahead, for the rest of us.

    Nice character sketches~~
I always admire guys can design costumes onto their character's properly...the one of showing the tatoo on his back is great! The painter drawing is well-rendered as well. It will be great if you can drop some tips about how to make a fine image like the apple one in my sketchbook.

    Keep updating!

    Picture on hold

It's been a long time since I last updated, so here's something I hope could make up for it (with more to come).

Sketched in Photoshop then painted in Painter.

It's not finished, and it won't be any time soon as my mind's gone numb after working on this, sporadically, in the last couple of weeks. Won't be lingering on this anymore, have to move on or I'll go nuts.

    Sweet sketchbook sir.
Constance's gun don't look real. You should find some reference.
Your cloth and leather look real good. Very "tactile" I think the word is.
    Very good stuff here.
Please take the time to give me some constructive criticism in my Sketchbook

A painted version over one my pencil sketches I did a year ago of Kain, from Legacy of Kain. This is one of the few ways that I honestly enjoy working from.

I'd say loosen up the bodies' shapes in your nude drawings-- they're very stiff and hard-looking. Try some softer forms that fall with gravity. The last painting is dynamite though, I love the way you used those tiny brushes on the hair.

eminkey2003 - Yeah, I see what you mean on the nude drawings. I have been afraid that my relying on muscles alone to help with character drawings would make them less natural. Thanks, mate.

I really like your style. It's comic book-y but that's what's cool about it. Too bad about you not finishing the Turtles piece. The composition was really cool and with a little lighting, maybe some atmosphere to block out the far background some and a little less outlining on the turtles and you would have had a really killer finished piece. As it is now, it's freaking great. Would be cool to see it taken to completion, though.

    Hope you keep posting!!

Cant wait to see more, You really spend time on your sketches,
I think you should try a more smooth rendering. Make it a little delicate it especially on the life drawings it just seems scratches of line work.
