Sooo uh, I've been here for a while under another handle, but never really contributed any art, so I figured it'd probably be better if I got a fresh start with an art post...

A couple of new images, and I cleaned out the first post of some of the less crucial pics
The second one was done as a 90 minute portrait assignment for stevekim's class
edit: added the one from the first post here

hi! nice sketchessss man!
LOOPY! awesome![]()
sweet sb! neat teen girls...nice pencils..show us more!
Thanks for the commentos guys, here's a new batch, again done for stevekim's class:
I've recently rediscovered deviantart for its nude stock photos, so I guess I'll be having a lot more naked people in this sketchbook, haha

Filling sketcher with my junks:
I think I work better on that application than any other digital program...or pencil, which is probably not a good thing :|

Ah, a bunch of pretty girls. Nice. I noticed you have the tendency to make everybody's hands really small in proportion to their body, so keep that in mind.
The skinny-ness of your characters reminds me of Samurai Champloo and the manga 'Ares'. I like your style a lot. It's very rare to see and with some refinement it'll get even better. Hope to see ya round
Nice sketchingmy favourite one is the face in your second post, nice! na mean
take your time on some sketches.
i agree with murdokx, finish something
sketches are looking good though, they have style
My sketchbook: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...106521&page=11
octopus_interphone: Thanks, I'll go back and look at those again and keep an eye out for it in the future
ped454: Thanks! I'm trying to refine my lines, giving them more meaning and such. Hopefully they'll be a bit tighter in time
Cold: Thanks yoo, and thanks for taking the time to return-looking at my sb, hehe
ABC: Will try to do that. I tend to compartmentalize when I'm drawing, separating referenced from imaginative work...what skills I have don't seem to carry so fluidly- thanks for bringing it to my attention!
MurdokX: Thanks, will do. I will fight down my impatience :]
ajvenema: Hopefully I'll get a finished piece up here soon :] thanks
New scribbles from sketcher, with bits added in PS where the limited page size of sketcher wouldn't let me do more![]()
Hey peoples, some new doodles off sketcher. I think I'm going to horizontally extend the canvas of the last one and turn it into a finished piece, finally.![]()
I like line more violating for the last ones
thanks naomi, means a lot from you
thanks warlock, not sure what the second part means though
Some new sketches, done on paper - it's a little less scribbly than the digital stuff, I think
Edit: sorry, these might be a little light on some monitors...it seems a little inconsistent

Nice updates loopsYou got good line quality in these pencil sketches and THERE ARE DETAILS no way...
I suggest doing more studies and drawing from referance more often. the proportions on your figures are a little off sometimes, mostly the hands and feet are smaller than they should be. I like the first one lots o cool hands
update more!
see you in sketcher![]()
New one, portrait of Agyness Dean from photographic reference, done in sketcher and fixed a bit in PS. Missed the likeness, and I'm crap with skin tones...guess there's a lot more practice to go
hello fellow college student. keep it up, you're good, and keep in touch, i need some local competition to keep me motivated.
kanoodle: thanks yo, will practice those things :]
grenappels: haha, thanks dude, so do i, and looks like i got some catching up to do. we should get some kind of sketch group together or something
so this is another model from reference, and it's pretty obvious i got more than a little work to do with colors :| any suggestions are highly welcome
working on values and forms a bit, also trying to keep the gestures and energy while losing the scribbliness in the linework

Hi
Lovely sketches, i think you do very well on the rhythm of your drawings, you got very good gestures and interesting stylization, keep working.
post 22: I dont have very good eye to colors but i think adding a bit more saturation in the midtones might help, it keeps the piece from looking muddy
i think the ONLY thing i can crit on is to work a bit more on anatomy
you've got a good color sense, and a wonderful sense of weight and movement in your figures.
a very very good sense of it!
i'm jealous....haha

"Avoidance of what you can't draw well doesn't stimulate growth." -Cory Trego-Erdner
"Only the mediocre are always at their best."-Jean Giraudoux
renegade: thanks, i'll keep that in mind for later paintings
ignomi: thanksi'm doing a couple of actual figure studies as i'm writing this, but i don't have access to a scanner, so they'll have to be put up...later, i guess, haha
so anyway, here's another one from sketcher
yeah, apart from some anatomy issues, great work!
i really like the moleskine pages, your figures and faces have a sense of delicate vulnerability in them.
looking forward to more!
Love the last one man good lines and there is nothing wrong with the color, its really nice actually. you are improving
Keep working Loops![]()
Speedpainting in artrage! Getting uncomfortable with colors, going for a brighter, smilier feel...I think it was pretty successful :] The colors are a bit more vibrant than usual, which makes me happy
...though now that I look at it again, I probably should've left the bird out
Hey! They are great, but don't stop with the pretty girl faces, it's really going somewhere. Lots of them made me smile. Keep doing Steves' classes!
