hey dawn! yeah I am totally doing Biggs. I HAVE TO, this is probably going to be his last group show. (Or so I'm told.) And the subject matter is right up my alley. Freaks and oddities? Yes please!

That painting of Mendalyn is awesome!
Amazing portraits and painting skills! You definitely know what youre doing!
thanks guys! sorry I've not been uploading more stuff. Landed 3 art shows that are all opening on the same day/night, and I've been working my tail off.
Here's a few portrait sketches for my piece for the Biggs "Oddities" show... doing a set of Siamese twins
Here's the underdrawing for my new oil piece "The Terrible Two"
graphite on gessoed panel, 16"x20"
i love your style; your paintings are fucking amazing
juicy - thank you!
I have a few progress shots to share - am kind of on a siamese twin kick at the moment. All of this work inspired by the group show @ Biggs Studio for "Museum of Oddities" ... (I am also submitting the twin girls piece along with this one.)
"Siamese Twins" - sculpey, approx 8" x 10" x 3" (progress shot, unpainted)
More later, after I get some pics uploaded!
New sketches for a painting I'm working on:
graphite on sketchbook, roughly 5" x 7"
More updates soon, I promise... The shows went well (had three opening on August 7th) - actually sold a couple pieces too! Also landed another live painting gig @ the Bunkhouse for Laptop Battle 1.0 - if you're in Vegas come check it out. August 22nd, 10pm - 2am. Trying to get the local electronic scene happening![]()
Im a little bit obsessed with portraits right now so I thoroughly enjoyed your book. Really nice, thank you.
jigje ahhh so you are addicted now too eh? don't worry, its a good one
Here's the background I finished up this evening while prepping panels. Gotta let this dry overnight before putting oils on it tomorrow.
acrylic on panel, 18"x24"
More later if I can fight this crash off long enough... more coffeeeeee
Live painted last night to a a couple electronic/noise sets @ the Bunkhouse for LaptopBattle1.0 ... it was a bunch of fun. Even got some live footage being thrown together by a fellow artist of the evening, which I should have soon and will definitely post.
This was the result of 2.5 hours of painting, from start to finish. (Including beer and drying time breaks haha)
"Off With His Head"
acrylic on panel, 14"x14"
I'm also auctioning off a TON of paintings this week to help me pay my studio rent. I've been keeping it going for a few months now, keeping myself afloat with odd art jobs and art sales (along with the day job) ... So if you're interested in checking out some art at good prices, check my ebay page here. I'm also accepting commissions for sketches, portraits, tattoo designs, doodles, whatever. All prices negotiable, depending on what you want. I'll work with ya
Thanks guys! More work posted later, I'm supposed to be doing some alla prima portraiture with Biggs today.

Just got home from a group painting session. totally exhausted, but wanted to post this before I slipped into a coma. NEED SLEEP.
Portrait of a Japanese Goth Girl
Oils on illustration board, 11"x14"
more tomorrow!
Some nice work! I think you should put a little bit more work in your paintings sometimes so they look really finished. But try to keep your remarkable brushstrokesYour are on the best way to become a great painter! Oh and I like this portrait from Blade Runner!
GunTrouver thank you!
So today's update is interesting... I found out a couple of days ago that I have been selected to illustrate the Devil card for Amanda (Fucking) Palmer's tarot project! I've been a fan of her work with the Dresden Dolls and now her solo album, "Who Killed Amanda Palmer?" So needless to say, I was pretty fucking stoked to hear I could participate in this project.
I'm not allowed to post the final piece until the deck is published, but I have been cleared to post my sketches and such. So this is the first post of many.
I've been studying ram skulls. I only scanned one so far, but there will be a bunch more, I'm sure

Sooooo I've been REALLY BUSY. So busy that it is driving me a little insane, but at least I have some hope that this hard work will pay off somehow. I have been busting my ass on my AFP Tarot card (which I cannot show yet) and painting for the Art Renegades group show that will be @ Place Gallery on October 2nd, for the anniversary of First Friday here in Vegas.
So here's a sketch I did for a new piece called "Scavenger" for one of my pieces for the Art Renegades show. Graphite on paper, roughly 8" x 10" -

This thing is getting submitted tomorrow, and then I'll be able to share the final once the deck is published.
