I forget if I've mentioned it yet: Moebius is the Artist Guest at this year's World Fantasy Convention.
I'll be there, Donato, Todd Lockwood...and others that I am not sure about yet.
Dan Dos, you going?

I’m told that Saratoga is a three hour train ride from NYC, but I haven't looked into it yet.
They call the entry fee a membership, but really it's just an entry fee. I think you can either buy a day pass or weekend long pass.
I should note: The event as a whole is much more focused on writers but there are a lot of artists there as well. The list that I know of so far is:
Moebious
Donato
Todd Lockwood
Charles Vess
Dave Palumbo
Tom Kidd
Gary Lippincott
Joh Picacio
Omar Rayyann
Irene I am from albany/saratoga area...if you need any info on the place let me know. I'll look into this seriously since I am part of the area and would be nice ot get back up there to visit etc.
edit: on a side note....um $150 for this!!! Is there a cheaper price for us artists? $150 is a bit steep for me right now...esp for a convention.

Dave - Cool. That adds Boris Vallejo, Julie Bell, and Tony Palumbo to the list.
Tetsu - It is pretty steep. This is considered more of a professional conference than a public trade show like ComicCon. For anyone that is close by, just going and hanging out in the Hotel bar is the best part of the convention. But you wont be able to get into the art show or lectures without a pass.
Irene:
but is it possible to get into the show and not be a known professional? ( and anyone know how much the train is there and how one could get around from there without a car?
thanks
yes, anyone can buy a ticket and go. they're just being snobby with the language they use.
haha well screw them, its Jean f****** Girard!! Your talking to new yorkers here.
I'm gonna try my hardest to make it there.
It's likely I'll only go for two days, staying just one night.
I feel bad leaving the wife and kiddo home alone while I party it up.
didn't you read Irene's message above? It's a "professional conference". Not party, "working".I feel bad leaving the wife and kiddo home alone while I party it up.![]()
