loads of good stuff around here. I really like the movie stills speed paintings. How long does one take you average, please?

Anyway, really great stuff. I like the creatures and the little one with the primitiv fishermen creature and the spaceship above is really cool. kudos

Did this one for this weeks Anatomicae challenge over at CGHub! Portrait of an animal inspired on an existing portrait.

I put the reference below. Portrait is by Henry Raeburn (rev. Alexander Carlyle)

    LearningPath - Cheers!
zou -Thank you! I think it's all far from perfect though!
Sealegs - Hey sealegs! Hah, yea that was an honor. Funny you noticed it up there.
Phade01 - Well, had a bit of a fall back. Picking things up but I'm on it!
JellevdVegt - Too much honor! haha
n1frit - Yes, gotta admit that's a major flaw. Needs loads more practice.
The_Flying_Dutchman - Thanks, I enjoy those. It's also getting easier to actually practice now that they are getting decent.
Angel Intheuk - Thanks! The portrait was surprisingly fun and relatively easy. Sometimes you just 'feel' a painting. Having lots of fun again. As I mentioned at the Spartan Camp; no particular reference on those, but I keep inspiration nearby most of the time.

Got drawings and unfinished work all over the place, so I'll be catching up with updating the next few days.

I've been doing quite some moleskine drawing lately, since I'm often on the train or waiting for one at the station. So I scanned a few that are not a complete mess. Mostly in HB pencil (both 'normal' and mechanical). People already advised me to use 2b more often, but I keep forgetting :|

JellevdVegt - No problem! Sketchbooks are about improving right? It's what makes CA so good.
zou - Yea... That one started out really nice but something went wrong along the way. Thanks!

Quick studies from reference. Girls ended up badly and are somewhat unfinished.
    Movie stills are from Serenity.

Also this creature for the Creature Planets activity over at CGhub. Topic brief was along the line of an amphibian arthropod that pollinates flowers on atolls.

So much good stuff. Your gestures are great as always, your anatomy very good. Sometimes the faces aren't quite on the same level, I find. I'm not sure if that's just because you rushed them, though.

I think your creature designs are at a professional level. Any plans of sending a portfolio 'round, try and land a gig?

    shashankk; Nice to hear!
zou; Think the lack of color variation is a big minus. Also couldnt figure out the texture.
Hai; True, have been hearing that a lot lately, so definitely needs some work.
Angel Intheuk; haha, really? Good to hear. Still waiting for a second season...
    Hai; Back!

Almost finished a 8+ month internship, back in Amsterdam now. Should be working on report + a thesis but trying to spend some time on art again.
Scanner not working yet, so the non-digital stuff is piling up.

Updating as I sort things out again.

Starting with a CHoW entry and some Daily Sketch Group stuff from a while ago.

I remember the that dsg pic of yours, the pitiful creature's dying... You depicted it very well and it's nice aesthetically too (the sketchy flora doesn't matter, it's a dsg, not a long painting). I usually like when you draw some enviro or background.
