Character at a bar...well it will be

Hi, I decided to take a break from the landscapes (posted earlier) and do a character render for a friend (since I figured it'd be better to take a request as opposed to continuously making stuff up). Anyway, this is it. I haven't fully decided on his face and I may change it up to make it a more 'realistic' face although I'm pretty sure I could pull it off with the shading instead of redrawing it. In any case, tell me what you think and where I should go with this or delete it all-together. Cropped out copious white-space that will be background.

So I'm trying to figure out how to darken this enough, but I'm running into some 'roadblocks' so I've decided to take a small break and work on another project (the landscapes posted earlier). Any pointers?

I really like this. I think it's a nice simple idea...and I really like how you have used a bold red for the shirt. Keep at it
