some lazy guy's sketchbook (contains nudity, of course)

    Hello,

I've been registered here for a few years now, but I never really posted any art of mine. The main reason for this is that I am too lazy to draw, most of the time ...

Well, I am trying to change this now. So, If I don't post updates here often enough, feel free to beat me (but please only in a metaphorical way and not literally).

I guess I'm the first to reply. Cool. I gotta say I like the drawing of the steering wheel the best I think. It's pretty rough but it just exudes life. That doesn't make much sense, but I love it anyway. Keep the figures coming! Oh, and the headdresses on the lasts couple pics are great! Very outlandish.

As I'm sure others will say...more more more more

Some nice stuff in here so far, but I think you suffer from the same thing I do.... lack of patience That last one especially looks a little rushed. Remember to take the time to really observe what you're drawing and make changes if they don't look right. This type of self-help is better than any crit, since I find something you fix and experience on your own is remembered a little bit better.

    Hope to see more

Thank you both for your Comments!

Viking Raider, the steering wheel is actually the only one that was really drawn from life - I definitely should do more of these.

Rhineville, you are absolutely right with the patience thing! To my defense, I have to say that the last one were mirror-self-portraits. So in addition to the normal impatience came the urge to move my head again

    PS: Here's a small update!

Oh well, It's been almost a year again, since I last touched a pencil for drawing.

I could try to defend myself saying university was quite a lot of work last semester ... but the truth is: I was just lazy and wasted most of my time on the internet.

So, let's start again and hope my motivation lasts a bit longer this time than it did last time.

Has it really been almost three years since my last update?
Let's pretend that that it hadn't.

Anyways, here is a life drawing I did recently:

hi nice life drawing, it´s A4? I have better experience with bigger format in life drawing and charcoal. Shading on thah life drawing is realy nice, I also like that "geek" dwarf picture.
I don´t know what advice I can gave you, because you are on higher level than me
    Peace and love guys

Thank you, Matrej. That drawing is A5. Yes, charcoal tends to look better and it's much faster to lay some shading down. But I'm always reluctant to use it because I'm afraid of loosing the more precise control that a sharpened graphite pencil gives me.

A4, around 15 minutes each. I'm quite satisfied with how these turned out.

Also, I started a self portrait thread.
