    Annhilation Conquest, SpawnAof, Wow, Dreamblade...

    Hello hello !
Lots of pictures just recently released. As usual some of them were done and finished months and months ago (a year for Dreamblade for example). This is my batch (and a big one)for this month :

+ A cover for the ANNIHILATION : CONQUEST prologue published by Marvel (released this month). It’s some of the biggest upcoming saga in the Marvelworld. Space opera and epic feeling. The marvel Marko Drudjevic did the new design of the main character Quasar, also Starlord and some other main characters. Nic Klein (among top notch artists) did also some really ass kicking covers for this saga.

+ I’m working again on a comic-book : a new SPAWN graphic novel : Architects of Fear. A fully painted one shot for Todd McFarlane Productions. Damn! Back to storytelling and pages graphic layout : hard work…
Details here and more pages soon :
    http://www.myspace.com/spawnaof

+ Some WORLD OF WARCRAFT gaming cards illustrations. Lots of references taken from the WoW videogame, of course.

    + HORRORCLIX “Freakshow” packagings.
For this two illustrations, I’ve received B&W photographs of the sculpted prototypes of the figurines and up to me to play with colors. I’ve chosen a kind of photorealistic rendering.
My buddy Benjamin Carré made also two other Packaging illustrations for this set.

+ DREAMBLADE “Anvil born” packagings for the Wotc Figurines game. For this two illustrations, I received only B&W roughly concept arts and it was mine to “transcend” them at best with colors. Usual packaging stuff : the concepts were not mine but my task was to make them look as cool as I could. My buddy Jean-Sebastien Rossbach made also two other Packaging illustrations for this set.

+ A Cover for a Marrion Zimmer Bradley book. It’s a kind of inverted composition of a previous cover I’ve done, because the two books are linked.

Hope you like this news !
    Best !!

The amount of details you suggest in your drawings is awesome.
I always go and take a look at your covers when I pass the comic store same goes for Marko's work.

Aleksi... I shit you not... your work is inspirational to me. Love how you utilize digital and traditional together seemlessly. It's something that I strive for in my conceptual artwork, but fail to hit.

You chose to render realistically? Damn dood... that says a lot of about your powers... lord jedi. Always love when you post.
I'm not a fanboy, just an admirer of epic proportions.

Thanks all for the feedbacks !
Really glad that some of you noticed the Spawn cover (it's a big project for me) !

Padré : Thanks ! I'm trying to develop different styles and approaches (even if I currently think that I'm still really too shy). Since soon I'm working more with Painter.
And no I'm not doing tutorials on the internet, just because it's really too much time consuming.

Capproti : There is still some work on this Spawn book. Can't wait too to finish it

Bomba : Thanks a lot Jason. Some of the Dreamblade figurines concepts are really...weird The posters you've done for the game were really cool-looking too !

Some pictures of the Horrorclix Freakshow figures (I've worked with B&W photographs of them as basis for my illustrations) :

whoa, that's some tremendous effort with the figurines. awesome.
i find that first cover interesting, because it's so different from your usual work, less textures and, pardon me for saying, less dynamic (than say,the spawn cover). those wow devils, that's instant-recognize work. dynamic figures, lots of textures and suggested detail, simply great. (also the spawn cover).
i think all in all i enjoy those figurine paintovers the most though, really great mood there.

Hail to the king Alexi - it's always a great plesure to watch Your stuff..

but i've got a question 'bout your SPAWN comix - isn't it a second project for mcfarlane? was the first one ever relased in Europe? - I remember Your earlier posts: smth 'bout the necrocop spawn and so on.. How long does it take to make such a graphic masterpiece even with your skills? Will you - master Alexi - finally release some tutorial dvds like master Marko?

cheers - and long live king Alexi!!!

Ufff.. i can finally cry this out - after being for 3 years on guest status I've registered today.
