This is by far one of the most inspiring sketchbooks I've come across here on CA. The evolution from page one to here is very impressive. Keep up the great work!

Nothing to crit, i find the designs to be great and well done with nice variety. Dunno if someone would expect colors, but the local values are well designed, so whatever
Thanks for sharing!!!

Hey ccsears,
I'd just like to say it's very inspirational your work, gives me hope that some day i could be as good as you with all the hard work you've put in, i strive to do the same!
Keep up the amazing work!
added some detail.
i kind of like this crop. i want to explore this a bit more.
kingkostas--Thanks man! i wanted to do colors too, but i'm just throwing these in the "preliminary sketch" part of the portfolio. will hopefully get back to them one of these days.
katastrophi--Thanks! it just takes a lot of time to build up momentum. the right combination of momentum and balance and endurance... it's a lot like running a marathon while you're carrying an egg on a spoon.

The Spaniard's Sketchbook... No holds barred
i've been going through hundreds of brushes that i've accumulated over the last few months from downloads, tutorials, classes, etc., and i'm trying to get a feel for what i like and new directions i want to push some things. been working on a movie poster for a friend in japan who might be filming something pretty soon...can't show that right now though. redfacespeedpaint before bed with a sketchy brush.
Quike, Kingkostas-- Hey you guys, just wanted to say Thanks again for all the support. It's been a battle to keep momentum on this thing, so it's been great to get feedback from you!

Your presentation is utterly astounding. The concepts themselves are incredible and I love all of it. The continuing idea of the tent is very well executed. I absolutely love your shading and colouring... they really make the concepts come alive and feel real. Blown away, thanks for posting!
Sketchy brush is sketchy

Phenomenal work.
Really refreshing to see someone really getting stuck into a concept and really thinking about design.
Love the synergy between all your elements and your thoughtfulness of how it all works. Love the little robot carrying the huge tentpole thing.
Keep up the great work man!
holy shit.
I second what Andy says- excellent technique and fresh designs.
Truly great stuff, thanks for sharing!
the end product was just perfect do share what the client says im sure they will be mroe than pleased, like everyone else already said you already had the feeling and atmosphere of the world and it really shows in each and every concept, great job! now to bigger things!![]()

it's the end of my lunch break so i can't write much, but i wanted to offer yet another THANKS to you guys for looking and supporting my work. Steve Jung (currently working on Transformers 4, etc.) and Jung Park (lead concept artist at Sony Santa Monica) taught the class at Red Engine in Los Angeles and deserve a lot of credit for keeping the other students and me motivated and on schedule.
the bad news is that i'm going to keep some of my ideas on the down low just to give them time to develop. but the good news is that i'm re-taking the class again starting in January, Jung Park and John Park (confusing, I know, right?) will be co-teaching it, and I hope to produce at least this much work again. (fingers crossed)
i'll probably break down and post some sketches or something in the meantime, but i just don't want to scare the ideas off by being impatient. i've been doing a lot of writing and planning, and i could easily come up with another 50 things I need to draw. The harder part is narrowing down the story itself.
if you get a chance, you should definitely check out the red engine studios blog.
and also:
Steve Jung's Blog
Jung Park's Blog
John Park's Blog
and all the other instructors on the list on the right side of the red engine blog. Anthony Jones (Robotpencil), Luke Berliner, Mark Castanon, Won, etc. etc. etc.
alright, back to zbrush and modo. gotta pay for my rent, tuition and xmas gifts.
