    MarianRowling--Thanks!
Will has a thread on ZBrushCentral.com. I think he's also one of those top-row guys with a gallery too.

    Digital Sculpting Thread

He has a ton of stuff I'm sure he can't show yet. His cubicle is down the hall from me, so I get to peek over the wall and see what he's up to. Super nice guy.

Thanks Chris, must be really inspiring for you both to see what each other is working on. I love the intricacy of the head dress on this last one, I hope you are going to paint it.

very quick speed paint at lunch. maybe 10-15min.
trying to get more painterly with photoshop because i've been doing too much line work lately. i don't fully understand all the knobs and dials, but i'd suggest playing around with the mixer brush (under the normal photoshop [B] brush tool) to get some of these effects. basically you can get a multicolored brushstroke and blend pretty easily.

Marian--Thanks! I'll probably paint it if I get a chance, but it depends on getting a chance... which is kind of hard right now due to family stuff. Yeah, Will is cool to work with. I don't always get on the same projects as he does, but it's fun when I do.

some rough homework for class. i stumbled on a digital technique that's similar to using water/alcohol on ink sketches.

Really great stuff. I am interested in the latest homework, the various planes with objects sitting on top and got through it.

Thanks for the mixer brush tip. That is really handy and I had no idea it was there.

I think it's great that you share these very usefull techniques and tools. I tried to use the abstract shape exercise that you posted earlier and it is very useful.

Also, your latest posts are nice. Especially the statue.

I gotta say that this is probably my favorite sketchbook thread here on CA.org. I'm always anxiously waiting for updates and squeal like a little girl when I get them. Oh the times I've spent lurking on this thread as an anonymous guest marveling your artwork and dedication. And just for the sake of it: 始めから糞かっこいいスケッチブックだ!次のアップデートが全く期待できません。クリスさんは芸術家の間で 神様だ。

Dude your work is amazing, i've only looked at the first 4 pages, pages 82 &81 last night on my iPod touch and i'm amazed by it! This sketchbook is like the modern DaVinci sketchbook! And you have inspired me greatly!

If you don't mind i may study from some of your work, i wont take any credit and i swear i wont post here it as my own but i just want to learn from your style, especially the first few pages of the ball point pen work. That actually inspired me to try a sketch portrait last night and a ball point version of the same portrait.Turned out ok, considering i'm only getting back into drawing after a year and a half mental block, and that i usually don't use that type of media.

Do you still trace a lot of your old drawings to correct mistakes? You mentioned that in those first few pages and i'm curious to try it out with some of my old drawings that i'm not happy about. I don't normally use tracing paper for my work. Keep up the fantastic work and thanks for inspiring me!

Edit: As an artist and a history student i love those 300 sketches on page 5!

Hey Chris! It's Jason. Long time no see! Enjoying your mech bashing and product-ish sketching practices.

Hey everyone, just wanted to say thanks for the support and positive feedback. Both of my parents are currently in the hospital, so I haven't been doing too much artwork at the moment. Too distracted. I have been trying to focus on pushing through Andy Brown's Modo tutorials. If you are trying to learn Modo, his videos are really, really good. They're available from the Luxology website.

Slavin--Hey Jason, it's nice to hear from you! I hope you're doing well.

    Yor--Thanks man!

i_Imperator--Thanks! I don't mind at all if anyone draws from my stuff as long as they use common sense--credit where credit is due, etc. I haven't been tracing my drawings all that much, even though I do recommend doing it. It's usually just part of my drawing process--start with a rough sketch and kind of "trace" over the drawing to do the finished linework, etc.

    ozark--やあ、まだまだです。皆さんの応援をもって、これからも頑張りますよ。

obstfelder--Thanks! I'm glad some of these techniques are helpful. I've had a lot of fun learning them from some of the concept artists in LA.

While there are many things I could write here the first thing that stuck me and did again as I was re-browsing your SB was your sublime pen work on page 1, crazy. I see your doing more 3d work now, is that a new direction for you or for college? No wait, don't tell me, i'll read your comments.
