looking gooooood man.
alllllright, daggers and fellow CA people. I need some help. does this turtle look better with blues in the shadoes and a multicolored facemask? should the shell stay all gold like above or have some blue in it? havin a hard time figuring how i wanna finish this.
Hey Dan, he’s looking good so far.
The mask is looking a lot better with the extra colours.
The shadow helps ground him but I would try it a little lighter so it’s not so distracting or maybe work a little more into the ground plain so theres a reason for having a shadow cast.
For the shell I would just work some more colour and texture into it to break up the yellow. Overlay or Multiply layer and a big chalk brush should do it. Also if you’re going to have him lit from the front and the shadow cast towards the viewer the shells needs to be darker.
Hope that helps.
Would be cool to see you and Dave do a collab with these two guys on the next character stream.
well hey. i finished shell as much as i could. i also painted for a nice 18 hours today with no breaks. feelin pretty good. maybe ill learn to do this everyday.
havent posted in a couple weeks. apologies. ive got lots of stuff to scan and share, and will get around to it. as for now, heres a wip of my neverending story reimagining for cghubs storytellers contest.
Sorry to hear you won't finish the neverending story piece on time, but it looks really great, so I hope you'll get the time to finish it later. Also very nice Chow
not streamin yer, but i will if you want me to. I dont have much to teach anyone but we can tell jokes.
heres some wips. more comin.
Those last few wip's are fucking sweet man, I love the lighting on the first one. It's a shame you didn't get a chance to finish the Neverending Story over, I didn't have time to finish mine either, you should def try to go back and finish it if you can, the composition is pretty interesting. Really nice details in the armor as well, adds a lot of visual interest to the characters.
Quick critique would be that the way you're planting some of your figures feet on the ground plane looks odd, the perfectly side on ones especially.
Keep up the work man,
Really digging that PP stuff man, awesome. this would be a pain in the ass to sculpt as a miniature though Does PP do digital sculpts now like games workshop? Either or, lovely stuff.
