yea man, the fish and ship definitely work for me, maybe some other mysterious elements amongst the ground to add some mystery as to what these guys are exploring/looking for? That portrait of your bro is pretty slick too.
I think the illustration looks great, and yeah the ship and fish fit in nicely
Great illustration, the composition and use of colors in that image is simply brilliant. Great use of values in your latest portrait as well.
Agree with cgaddict. Your underwater acrylic painting is FAB.Your dedication to compose a believable acrylic image of underwater environment of this quality is awesome.
you should work on the hands you draw man!
anyway awesone illustration up there![]()
You sir are great
Awesome work
hey man sweet stuff, you really have a great ornate sensibility. i.e the the strands with the lizard, real nice. the last piece is really awesome, i like the colurrs mann. As for a critique, or advice, I'd push the value seperation, to add more contrast. maybe play with the overlay/darkened or whatever layers to darken parts, play around, I think you'll get what I'm saying when you see ityeah if you darkened the background, the foreground stuff will pop big timez. push it to it's limit man. can't wait to hear you and dave tag team the stream, those are always funny as hell haha.
whoa, back in action finally. summer of magic starts now.
2 hour.

Heya Dan, wow nice paintings, love the saturation on your bro's face, really nice glow. The deep sea one looks amazing too! Not surpied it took ages, time well spent though, I've love to try traditional like this sometime.
Nice value study of this old guy, brush strokes on the face are working well!
2.5 hour study

oooh danny dan dan dan I miss you
i'd suggest drawing through the construction a bit more, so you don't run into the problems like on the posed arm where it looks all stubby.
also it looks like the features of the face are a tiny bit off from each other, drawing thru the construction will really solidify the structurez and help facilitate them learninz.
good take on classic scenes( like the one with the divers), but the main problem is atmosphere , given by color; more exactly there is no atmosphere, when using colors that may look that are there like orange you can make a big mistake.
The charters in that illustration are under the sea, so they are surrounded by a liquid mass, they seem pretty far from the viewer so the blueness of the water must affect how we see their suits , the same with the other surrounding things
cool sketchbook
I like your drawing a lot more than your paint
but you made some really good progress
Hey man, really great sketchbook to look through.
The underwater acrylic painting is really cool, has a interesting feel to it. I really like the ship faded into the background with the sunlight coming through the very top of the water.
Studies are also looking good. No real crits from me, just keep it up.
You'll have to post that buff orc when you're able to.
Keep your switchblade ready.
heres a less buff goblin. buffer goblins soon.
also, a whole week of HAND studies to blow my mind is coming up. whos gonna join us?

Great portrait of the old guy, love the hand studies too.
Now this is doing learning right... Ima copycat.
Btw.. the acrylic looks awesome, great scale on it, and the underwater element is nicely visible everywhere.
