  1. I'm gonna stay on for this year, and build up my skills and portfolio.

Talked to the careers adviser bloke, he said that the Dundee college had the Portfolio course going, so if I don't get into Edinburgh College of Art I have a back up plan.

Cheers for the help, I'm going to find myself a graphics tablet now, and see if I can't learn digital art in a year.

  2. You could always try a Foundation Arts Course, to build up a portfolio. Dundee College of Commerce used to do one, but I'm sure that they're not the only place you could try. Courses start soon, though, so I'd get your skates on....
  3. As a matter of fact I am mate.

I don't have anything lined up, but I don't think 6th year is the thing for me, especially because Advanced Higher Art is focused purely on portraiture, and I need skills with other things for my portfolio, college, and eventually concept art.

I really feel the need to leave this year, before it really starts, so I can get a portfolio together somewhere.

    Any advice?

I don't know if taking a year out is a good idea, because most jobs are taken, and they would distract me from my art anyway.

I'm down in Kinross, if that changes anything.

  4. You wouldn't be going through the "I left school, now what" stuff, would you?

Have you got a Uni lined up? My daughter is off to Edinburgh soon, but not for art.....
