Ok, I've been lazy for the past few years ( or busy, I can't remember which ) and I really need to go to some more life drawing classes. This will do for the meantime though.

Did this one with pastels in about 15 minutes. I haven't used those in 3 years. ^^;

cool stuff, i think you could use a longer time to measure out the face beforehand because the face looks unstructured at times. great painting but i think you should spend more time getting the proportions correct.

I like the style of your last piece the best, but overall I think you need to watch your proportions, the placement of your facial features is a little inconsistent, but like asoir said, measuring out beforehand will fix that. I'd experiment more with the technique of your last piece, I think your on to something with it.

Glad you like it :) the 'drawing' of the image was done using a gum eraser on vine charcoal.

Gah! >_< I need a new scanner. Can't seem to digitize most anything I've made decently.

I use a tightly rolled peice of paper called a tortillon that has two tips to smudge with. The one I use has a larger tip for big areas and a small tip for details.
