Hi all,

Being a newb to tablets and painting and all...I was playing around with PS and painter classic and I noticed that when I am doing quick circles PS gives me sort of straight lines within the circles whereas Painter circles are beautiful and smooth...what gives?

Have I got set the tablet up differently or am I missing something?

Anyone had a similar problem?

I don't know about Painter Classic since I use Painter 7, all I can tell you is that Painter 7 has a function called 'damping' that averages out your strokes and creates a smooth curved mark along the averaged path. Turn this off and you get jagged circles like you do in Photoshop to.

Am I missing your point entirely?

Um yes sorry, how do I dampen the effect in Photoshop?

Photoshop 7? Open the Brushes palette and check the 'Smoothing' checkbox. I can't recall if there was a similar feature in previous versions
