I was curious,(brace youself dumb question!) were or how do you set your monitors contrast and brightness so that it is the same as most other people,? is there a test to run?

I only ask because I sent a pic to a friend I was working on and he said it was too dark to see any details...It was nice and clear on my monitor?...I dont know which of ours is off? I would think there would be a universal setting to match them to?

please be gentle if this is a realy stupid question...lol
and im sorry if this isnt the right foum for it,
and thanks if you have any advice:confused:

I have exactly the same problem, I set my monitor correctly with a mire and because friends have poorly set their monitor, dark pictures don't display correctly there...

This link must help set it correctly :
