Hi guys. I'm looking to buy a laptop mainly for school and entertainment, but I'd also like to be able to take up my art hobby again. Would a 15"WXGA laptop be big/good enough for an amateur artist(2d and 3d work)? (core2duo 1.6, 2gig ram, intel 128mb graph acc)

I don't have a pc so i'd be using it exclusively. id probably buy an A5 tablet later.

any takes on my choise would be appreciated. my budget doesn't allow too many mistake purchases and I haven't really been keeping myself up to date with the technology..

regards,
Tony

How much does it cost? what is your budget? I'd suggest getting an extra 128 megs of video ram, just in case. But right as it is, since you're amateur, then I think it's a pretty good machine. One more thing: I distrust anything below the 2.0 gigahertz line in processors. So buy a faster one!

Cheers for the input GriNGoLoCo!

So I should get a core2duo 2ghz instead and a gfx card with 256 ram.
(intel graphics accelerator? geforce xxx? or..?)

The previous setup i mentioned would cost abt 1,300 USD without the OS, that's pretty close to my max already, but I guess I could spare a few more franklins. Does it make a difference which version of WinXP I choose?
