Hello everyone, love the forums. Its great they way amature artists (such as my self) can show their work side by side with professional artists, great stuff.

Anyway i'm new to all this 3d, and below is my third attempt at a modeling a human head, and i was wondering if someone would be able give me some tips on how i would go about texturing it, like creating a decent UVW map or something. Im currently using 3DS Max R5 with PhotoShop 7.

Crits are also welcome on the actual model (note: nostrels and ears still to be done, i hope)

Hmm there are alot of ways to texture, u can use the textporter plugin or u can unwrap UVW's you have applied to it and put it into photoshop that way.

what i do is break it up in the major elements:
nose
mouth
ears
profile
behind veiw
front veiw

then unwrap, and move UVWs.

And to paint your textures, here's a good tutorial on how to get realistic results.

Although this is for Maya, the same principles should apply for Max too.
