Okay, this is my first DSG, go easy on me ...

Okay, so maybe that's not the sort of arrival you had in mind, but it was the first thing that came into my head. :)

Davi: cool, creepy.

simmi: heh, love the caption. :)

Hexal: neat concept, hope to see you paint it!

why so afraid, DraigAthar?

I´m (also?) a noob, but I think it looks good. Only negative thing appearing to me is that you used an easy perspective (is it negative?) and that you didnt color it. but keep it up

Thanks wayfarer. You're totally right about the easy perspective, it's probably because I have SO little experience at drawing out of my head - I am way to reliant on references. So for me to even attempt this DSG thing is a pretty big deal, heh. But hey, I figure if you never try anything, you never gain anything, so I gave it a whirl. I'll get better eventually!

Oh, and I didn't color it because I'm old-fashioned I guess ... I suck at digital, and my normal color medium is oil paint. So finishing an oil painting in 90 minutes is pushing it a bit, heh. I need to learn to use a wacom tablet ...

Thanks for the reply! I crave critique.

Thats the right attitude. so you´re also a noob, I was alright.. Think we have a lot in common. I also started to draw seriously ago 3 months and was used to draw from (or at least with) references. drawing out of my head is difficult to me, too.
But I´m hard training and things have improved since first time. I started to draw digital from the beginning. At first with mouse since yesterday with my brandnew wacom (yeah :D) The basic basics are really easy. just have a try. In contrast to you I never did an oil paint, but what the hell...

btw.: If you have really serious problems to draw harder perspectives, try this link:

about page 60 the use of framework is shown. I always do some kind of this before I start a painting.

hope we meet each other again :chug:

~edit just have a question to the general forum. where can you view one´s ICQ number? Just was searching for mine.

Congrats on your new wacom, wayfarer - have one but I've not used it much. I know, shameful, isn't it? I should draw on the comp more often.

Oils are fun, but they can be slow. I've been painting in oils for years, but lately I've really been trying to loosen up and try new things. I suppose that's what brought me here!

Oh, and as for viewing one's ICQ number, I think if you just click the little 'profile' button at the bottom of someone's post, it'll take you to their profile page where all their info is listed.

That loomis book is great, thanks for the link!

well I'm not really sure how this DSG thing works but it's nice to have a theme to get me started painting every day. Here's my second try at it.
