I came home this afternoon to shoot my pic but I guess I'll have to wait til next week.

I was under the impression the poll opened Tuesday evening, since that is what the rules said.

Can we set a specific time maybe with a time zone? So people won't miss out.

Goddammit! I just finished mine!

*sighs*

Crits (return crits = <3)
Morbid: Excellent idea, really good execution. I think it needs a bit more of a change in lighting though, or none at all. A nice graduated shadow from left to right would have been awesome, or even just shaprer light to emphasise the existing shadows.
Playmobil: This is cool, but I think would have been a lot better without the rusted bits in the fitting. If you could have found another one without that this shot could be substantially improved.
Sam: Being blunt, this does nothing for me. There's some good lighting to create the gradient from dark to light, but aside from this I find it boring.
Someone: I once heard someone say "In macro, less is more". Although I don't often agree with it, in this case less dirt on the surface you have the lightbulb would make the focus more on the actual wire. Excellent work on getting the DoF just right.
Barrett: This is excellent, the concept is great, the contrast is good (could be a liiiiittle bit higher, but that's personal opinion), all you need is chessboard without that hugely distracting folding line and you'd be set. It's a real shame that it's there, as it draws my attention every time. Also, I think the diagonal is a touch out (like 1-2 degrees), is that just me?
PatrickS: This is a really creative response, the only crit I have is it'd be awesome to see at a really high ISO looking all noisy and stuff, I know I usually crit people on too much noise but that's when it's unintentional :P excellent work.
Pengringo: .....What is this? I spent 5 minutes trying to figure it out, and still no luck! Excellent execution (of whatever it is), great use of negative space, I can't find anything to crit.
Stine: Like Sam's, I have to say this does nothing for me. I think a crop so that it's just the light pole on a black background would be better, the trees have too much variety and business and the two clash for focus.
Alucard: ... :O How do you make something so boring and everyday look so damn good? Really, I've got nothing. Lighting, contrast, DoF angle, all spot on.
Norwin: A breath of fresh air after all of the black and white ones :D. Excellent work, great set up, great idea, my only problem is it doesn't truly fit into what I think of as minimalism, it's a repeated motif but the colour variation is too large.
Andres_pad: This is an interesting one, but there is a big problem. The highlights are seriously blown, killing a lot of the interesting details. Aside from this it's cool. although another one that I have no idea what it is :s
Le Gab: I know you're on an inversion trip, but this, to me, isn't minimalism. It has too much going on and too much unnecessary stuff, especially for a minimalism themed challenge.

Now the hard part, picking who to vote for :(

my vote goes to Morbid... this is just perfect minimalism :D
Very close behin him is Pengringo.
Barret Wallace idea is in my opinion the best but the result does not really convince me.. (I would prefer more contrast and another chessboard which is not splitted ;) )
