I'm only kiddin', Killer'...

Questions like the one you asked generally end up as free-for-alls with a lot of pissing and moaning and spitting and stuff around here. Some of these mouth breathers even go foetal when you mention "a-a-a-a-ab-ab-abstract" in public...

I'll try for a definition..."Art is the physical result of your soul battling with your intellect to the death...with a sharp pencil..."

haha.. i love to hear it though.. those free-for-alls humor me .. cuz i hear it all the time at school.. and it just kills me...

Photography 3 students were so unsure of themselves that the fine art students or anyone were thinking that photgraphy wasnt art, that they had to put up a giant sign, made of photos that said.. "PHOTOGRAPHY, IS, ART" .... then a bunch of polaroids hanging from strings with pictures of random people.... haha .. i chuckled just like that when i saw it.. how unsure are they about what they do,... and then on of the polaroids smacked into my eye.

A 3-letter word.
Webster describes it as:
archaic present second singular of BE.

So we are all busy trying to perfect the archaic present second singular form of our own perspective of existance(cross ref: to be or not to be).

Art is anything an artist says it is.

GOOD art is anything I say it is.

That is all.

Art is the spoon that mixes truth with lies in the pot of prejudice.

I think any term so general as "art" is, in the modern age, a difficult thing to define. But of course we try regardless. To that end, I have small text file full of art-related thoughts that I constantly edit in an attempt to clearly define what art is. The best I've been able to do so far is this:

In the deliberate act of giving substance to an idea with the intention, to varying degrees depending on the intentions of the creator, of instilling emotion upon those who experience it, art may refer individually or simultaneously to the act, substance and/or experience.

I knew a guy named Art. He had a big penis, which he painted pictures with. Not that I'd call that art, though.

Art is evil. It killed Van Gogh, and made hitler a complete asshole. BUT! At least they accomplished what they wanted...sort of...

Hey, without bullshit, life wouldn't exits man! [ecologically]

In any case, I think doing reflexions on a label is a waste of time, to which I succumb with joy. Words are there to represent an illusion to which the personnel will able to have a general idea of what the other dude wants. So basicaly, when we say art, we could put in art as something beautiful yer 'unpractical', like we create beauty and that's it. While on the other hand we could define art as a form of life in which the personel devotes a certain time to do a certain thing, unrelated to the 'artsy-art' form. Thus we could put art as being alive, or something close to it.

On any case of all of it, art is bullshit ^^

I think this is art, but unfortunately it requires blow jobs and determination.....talent might be nominal, all depends on the project.
