Topic: Post-Apocalyptic Standard Weaponry

Background: The massive clash between two powers that people can no longer remember has left the world scarred. The survivors have formed into gangs, the world is now ruled by warlords. And now, from the south, a new leader is building an army to return the world to stability. These warriors need armament, that is where you come in.

Brief:

1. Design the standard weaponry for this new army.

2. It can be weaponry of any kind, remember the world has been bombed back to the stone age.

Deadline: Friday 20th October (or up to 48hrs later)

Wow... Flip you're doing a wonderful job of reviving the IDW... the string of topics have been just great.

I agree with Johnny, I hope the effort doesnt go unnoticed. I will try this one as well if I can come up with a reasonable Idea.

The South rises, no one knows where they got their new weapons from, the light but strong clubs easily pierced our armour and smashed our stone and wood weapons. Rumors abound, some say that they were given to them by their Gods, or they found them at a place where the Gods once lived, who knows, all we know is there is no stopping the southern hordes…

The War Clubs became the standard weapon for the southern army when they came across the desolate remains of a city from before the apocalypse, one of the less devastated areas used to be a home to many car dealerships, within these they found the tools to shape the wheels into War Clubs. The wheels are hacked and battered into clubs, leather is bound on to the handles, recovered CD's glitter in the sunlight banishing evil spirits, and a running total of kills is engraved onto the War Club.

Well that’s enough of that load of bollocks ;) My eternal shame rests upon me for not getting anything done for the last challenge, I love Steam Punk, and there were some great entries

I was going to mention that some character design would be fine to go with this, but voting will be done on the best weapon (although I can't force anyone) - so try to keep the focus of your work on the weapon design.

Nice work Sogbad, we all missed your entry last week. Unfortunately, you may have to wait a while for the next steampunk topic.

Hey, this one sounds like my kind of IDW, is there any restrictions on tech? does it have to be hand to hand?

Sogbad your weapon sucks bad :) Just kidding. It's quite humorous, something that didn't get lost on you obviously. It is very unlikely, that people would resort to club weapons that incorporate broken CDs in order to kill people. I'm sure they'd use explosives and fire arms. But I like the Ferrari integration and the image looks good, no doubt.

No restriction on tech. Melee, ranged, projectile, laser, anything goes so long as you can fit it with the brief - if it's shiny and new looking you better have a damn good reason.

Hello,

I propose this picture.
>Flip:I was going to mention that some character design would be fine to go with this, but voting will be done on the best weapon (although I can't force anyone) - so try to keep the focus of your work on the weapon design.

I have read that after starting, so if I have the time , I will put a picture of his repeating crossbow.

The parasite who lives inside the weapon pumps the adrenaline in the blood stream of the warrior
But in return the host must provide the food ..Warrior must eat or be eaten by the weapon.
The warriors have been called : “ The Children of Circulus Vitiosus” ( The Vicious Circle Children ).

Watch it Goran, remember this is industrial design. Make sure that there is a reasonable amount of man-made stuff to it (which it looks like there is?) and that it's not just a parasitic organism. Make sure the ID part of it serves more of a purpose than providing a bit of armour over the weapon, to make it work for IDW I think it would have to be a necessary part of the weapon.

Lodin thats damned cool as well, for some reason it didn't load when i first scrolled the page, i'd prefer to be that guy over gorans any day, the only thing i would say is that the weapons don't seem to be the center of the render, they just seem to be part of a character design, would like to see them in way more detail if i was going to call that an industrial design

the domination of the new age had begun....Acting president Jagete Kain found resources buried in the remains of what a modern day military bunker deep within the colorado rockies...though most of the weaponry was destroyed, there were parts to pilfer from and he and his military leaders set out to build what would become know as the afterburner...... taking a jet engine and reversing the thrusters, gave Jagete the advantage of burning a village down in seconds instead of hours....giving him control of most of the western hemisphere.

don't rip me too bad....just a quick sketch done at work while bored...the first time i have entered this deal, might try and keep it up....

tuzz > if you finish that up I'll accept it. Nice idea, I'm not sure how well it fits with standard weaponry, although it certainly seems to be the main weapon of the army.

PianoForte > Where's your entry?

Thread will be closed up in about 36 hrs and poll will be posted. Does anyone need more time than this?
