The event will be ran as it was last time; each of the pairings for each battle in a round are chosen completely at random. Whoever receives the most votes per battle from an ever-rotating judging panel of the industry's best advances to the next round. I plan on moving this Last Man Standing along faster than the last one, so be prepared.

You'd better get some action in this piece because you know your opponent will if you don't. I don't care if you main subjects are characters, vehicles, robots or hermaphrodites, just tell us a story we won't forget.

Submissions:
Every contestant will be responsible for hosting their own image. You will be required to submit a link to your image to my email at [email protected] in the yourname_round_TD.jpg format, with the title of your email yourname's entry. Please try your best to follow the format here, it saves me an assload of work. No WIPs are to be posted before the deadline. If you send me an image attached to your email instead of just the link to your hosted image, it doesn't go up.

Size: Keep your images large enough so that the detail is preserved, but do your best to keep the file size down (Photoshop's Save for Web function can help quite a bit).

you've got a good point. Firstly, I don't think anyone who wasn't in the last round will be brought in so you are safe in that regard. On the second part, I am totally biased because I really want to be in the next round. I worked my ass off and did a piece I was proud of, had I been in any number of other matches I might have won, as it was Fudiciose did a kickass picture and beat me. That is totally fair, I was expecting to be out. But now that I may be allowed in again, I'm really excited. It may not be the way a tournament normally works, but I also think it will make the tournament better. The number of rounds reamins the same, the number of winners remains the same, but there will be less pussout slots. I think everyone can agree that pussout spots are lame. And no one wants to win by default.

It seems to me that the point of this tournament is for insane competition that pushes each of us and to have fun. In my extremely biased opinion, allowing specific people voted in to be reservists will help facilitate both of those ideals.

Some more ideas: Internet or anything of addictive nature, it is an escape. Art for that matter too. Just recently read about this in Elwell thread in Lounge. Husband escapes in art, catching the biggest enjoyment possible for him which he can't find in real life, wife is escaping in alcoholism.

One more idea: cold feet , fear of commitment and wonderful escape minutes before wedding. Just climbing out of window, because excited bride and her big brother are laughing near the door.

I remember when I finished mine...ah those where the days. Since then, over a hundred skill icons have been finished (those little mini paintings for the game I'm working on), about twenty/thirty concept paintings, various elements for the interface, 6 freelance paintings (with three more due this week), and about ten personal 'fun' peices for myself. Plus all the sketchin' and doodles that are too numerous to count.

I've also watched a full seasons worth of The Wire, Little Britian, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Dark Place, Carnivale and several movies. When I get home, I always play with my kid, eat dinner, give her a bath read five stories (some are pretty damn long) and put her down to bed every night. I usually don't start working until after 11, when my wife goes to bed. I do my best not to work on the weekends, strictly family time. I've also had more than enough time to get my drunk on and just relax as well.

Basically if anyone still has not finished their piece by the deadline, barring the death of a family member or loved one, it's time to hang up the ol' pen/brush/wacom and retire.
