guidelines outside of the canvas

hello, i was reading through issue 4 of ImagineFX and one of the little tutorials had a picture of the guy's canvas with red and blue guide lines (for perspective) outside of the canvas and staying there. Does anyone know how to do that???

Make sure you zoom out enough to see the borders of the canvas.
Press Ctrl+R to show the ruler. Use the move tool and press down mousebutton on the ruler and drag and drop a new guide next to the canvas. Its easy!
