This is my ref. I'm going to try and model him using NURBs in Rhinoceros 3D. (no, it's not just for cars)

I've already started fixing the back so the spine isn't so sharp and the muscles are a little softer. I've also started adding his loin cloth thingie.

hey..nice post here..kinda like the way u do the lighting..
i think, perhaps u should make the body broader..didn't look much like the refference.
haven't tried rhino though.what was it like?

Thanks! Rhino's cool for Nurbs but that's about it. I'm not using the most recent version though, and there has been lots of enhancements. I decided to streamline the guy a little bit (not much...maybe 75 pounds less). Here's a brief update. I'm going to tackle the head next I think.

Thanks. Nice to be here! Actually, I must be following Davi around because he seems to be everywhere I go these days. lol.
I fell asleep before getting heavy into the head. I'm working on it now and will be posting some stuff shortly. I may need help with the mouth area as I've suddenly started having problems with that for some strange reason....never used to bother me before.

OBviously, I'm no where near done. I still have much work to do on it. Let me know what you think.

Adjusted the face to roughly match the drawing, on to adding some other bits...

It looks like it's coming along very well. Great detail and shape to the face in the 3-D. The sketch is pretty cool too. Keep it up and I hope to see more soon.

Looking good .. The nose looks like it might be a bit too far away from the mouth or vise versa .. Least accordng to the the sketch and I like that proportion a little better. Still a ton better than I could do .. Wish I could model better.

Thanks gang! Nothing new to show from yesterday due to an outbreak of the sleepiness bug...darn holidays. I moved the nose up a little to try and add to the beast look, I'm glad you like it. As for the hornless pic...I personally get reminded of He-man when I look at it. All I keep hearing is, "I am Adam, prince of Eternia and defender of the secrets fo castle Greyskull..." lol.
THanks again for checking it out and I'll post some more later today after work.

Nice work Teyon,
how r u creating it (spline or just extrusion etc...)?
Also, how do u intend on tackling the hair on your character?
lookin forward to seeing more ;)

Thanks! Rhino is a NURBs only modeler, so it's all made from lofts and sweeps resulting in NURBs surfaces which I then point edit. It's actually a fairly quick process when I'm not allowing myself to be distracted. As for the hair, I'm not sure really. Rhino doesn't have a hair plugin so I'd have to model it. I've been researching different methods of doing it in Rhino but I haven't hit anything I'm totally happy with yet. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Thanks again!

Having some trouble with his legs, once I get that sorted out, I'll post a new update. Thanks again gang!

Decided to come back to the legs this weekend but I started the arms and his weapon. Decided not to model him already posed but left him in the standard bone setup position instead.
