Very nice topic I must say. I think I'm going to add a bit of character to give mine a horror feel, sort of like a new monstrocity is being released onto the world.

Hey! It's about time! What took so long? Good topic, let's hope we can get the kind of participation the creature thread gets... well, I guess more people are into creatures than environment in general though. Anyway, glad you finally gave us a new topic!

The ‘Novgorod- 47’ Prototype testing facility is the most technology-advanced institution on Hyplochia. When the 12th Imperial War broke out in the year 2450, this facility proved to be one of the best testing grounds for the then infamous tactical combat droid ‘Seu’.
Currently, unmanned sentry drones are being tested since Novgorod-47 has fallen under control of ‘The Elders’.

Rook was so kind as to explain these things to me: IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW GOOD YOU ARE. THIS IS FOR YOUR IMPROVEMENT, NOT FOR WINNING.

and then he tied me up and beat me with a puma plushie/purse.

Excellent work Funkytown. My only crits are that it's a tad too blurry and the white cover should be made to look more three dimensional by giving it curves at the bottom, kinda like this:

http://www.chicagolandblinds.com/images/drapes/livingroom-drapes.jpg

But I'm just being nit-picky. You have a very solid entry.

Thanks for the crits, I agree! I've updated the image to address those things you mentioned, like the bottom of the sheet. It could probably use even more definition but for now I think I'm going to give this image a rest. I want to work on a creature now after all this perspective work hehe.

You guessed it, a prototype room! What kind of crazy machine is in there anyways? Hope everyone enjoys it, comments/crits welcome. Thanks!

Don't know, but whatever it is, it sure is happy to see you!
:-)

Nice job.

^ this is of course a prototype testing facility. one room out of the entire facility, but you must know this isn't for the usual matters. This is a facility for digitize warfare. It is completely self-containing. All the employees are required to live here for the duration of their lives. None one knows who runs the facility or how they communicate with the outside world. The only thing they know is that they must work or termination is required.

Ha, speculart, how secretive can these tubes be, when they are placed right in front of large Windows on both sides. Hehehe. Of course one could assume that those windows lead to an off-limits area, also top secret and thus no-one has access to it other than the creeps who know about the project anyway.

http://home.exetel.com.au/bumskee/con/eow_4_2.jpg

The year is 2979, world climate has reached a breaking point created by constant upset in the pollution level. New outbreaks of holes in ozone layer hiked global warming resulting in melt down of the North and South poles.
Facing an uncertain future for mankind, The International Environmental Agency launched a global campaign to desperately restore the ever changing climate and battle against acid rains. Major research and testing centres were established around most effected areas. The campaign involved collecting data to find a cure for Earth's dying atomosphere by launching millions of micromachines into the storm. The first prototype of micromachines were launched in 2981.

Really cool stuff guys. All you EoW regulars have a knack for this.

Dayum, Bumskee! That's too cool, and superb clouds. Looks like you mainly used a flow = pressure brush? Any custom brushes in there?

bumskee
June 27th, 2006, 01:24 AM
:) no actually it's not flow pressured.. I hate that thing... mainly used three custom brushes, mostly this oval brush... (there's a link to those brushes in PS section btw...) Oh and I didn't know you were in Australia... :)

Wow, thats a great lab Bum! Great stuff from everyone! Here's mine =D

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i88/icym/E-1.jpg

Before Oscar Goldman implanted it to Col. Steve Austin and before the Bennet family became the Bionic Six... everything started at this small lab somewhere in an Arizona desert. Originally intended for special covert combat agents during the Cold War, the B-Project was later diverted towards the defense of humanity.

Cheers, will go have a look-see in the PS section right now. heh, new brushes will probably keep me up another few hours (currently 2am) :S

Also yea, I'm a fellow Aussie, but am over in Perth... I love seeing Australian talent on these boards, just a shame most of the activity is in the eastern states. hehe

Hideyoshi: I like your piece a lot, especially the colours, lighting and painting technique which is at a very high level indeed! The one thing that bothers me is the 3rd point perspective which seens to be slightly off on the vertical lines of the piece. I would love to illustrate this with a picture as my crit may seem a little vague, but I do not want to fill this thread with images not relating to the topic stated.
