HELP! Photoshop colours change when they turn from PSD format to JPEG!!! ++

Help!
My photoshop images change colour when they go from PSD to JPEG format!

Here's an image of the normal photoshopped colour (taken using the print screen button on my keyboard) http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/1908/test26af.jpg

notice that the second image is darker and more blue. How can I make sure that when I convert my JPEG image it will look EXACTLY like my PSD image?

I dont think you can actually do that. Though im no digital artist or anything. Colors will convert if you change formats. Sorry i couldnt be of more help.

There MUST be some way- I can't be the only person that cares about the change of image quality through conversions.

well...jpg is a heavily compressed format, you're obviously bound to lose data in the conversion process. besides making sure you're saving at maximum quality and being aware of the cmyk/rgb issue, i'm not sure there's much else you can do.

I believe that's not because of jpeg compression, but rather because of colour managment in photoshop. So it should be fixable. Although as said above, you'll never get a jpeg 100% like the PSD for obvious reasons. Still, you should be able to 'save for web' at 60% jpeg and still have the colour visually identical.

One (not very good) way to fix it is to go into color preferences in photoshop and turn color management off. Ideally you can use adobe gamma to try to calibrate your monitor correctly and use that profile in your photoshop settings and that should work. (Although i've had heaps of problems with it and only now it seems to be working correctly {{my images used to save out to jpeg with a red tint whenever i had color managment on}})

Adobe Gamma is hidden in your Control panel if your using a PC, and Photoshop colour preferences are under the edit menu (make sure you pick a correct RGB working space).

if you created it in PS,
saved it a a JPG, and attached your "color profile" in the options..
it WILL open the same way in PS again.

if you don't attach the profile, it will default back to your working space profile.
there can be a LOT of difference there.
for instance "adobe rgb 1998" (industry standard) has way more contrast than other profiles.

despite the profiles, the real trouble is, getting it to open that way on someone else's computer.
because you dont know how they have their monitor calibrated.
their "adobe rgb 1998" may not be the same as yours.
but i cant see any other reason it would be incosistant on your own comp.
