Last Man Standing 2: Ultra-super-official sign-up thread.

That's right. We're doing it again.

Bigger. Sweatier. Stinkier. Nastier.

While the first Last Man Standing Thunderdome (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=47680) drew the largest turnout for a thunderdome to date with 144 contenders facing off in a total of 6 rounds, I think it's time the ante was upped a bit.

271 contenders over 4 rounds. 396 new pieces of artwork. 1 winner. And not one 1-on-1 battle.

The event will be ran as it was last time; each of the pairings for each battle in a round are chosen completely at random. Whoever receives the most votes per battle from an ever-rotating judging panel of the industry's best advances to the next round. I plan on moving this Last Man Standing along faster than the last one, so be prepared.

Round breakdown:

Round One: 270 initial contenders in 3 man battles
Round Two: 90 contenders in 3 man battles
Round Three: 30 contenders in 6 man battles
Final Round Four: 5 contenders, one winner.

If you want in, do me a favor and type your ca handle in your post in this thread so I can copy and paste it as easily as possible for me.

DO NOT enter if you are not going to show up with a piece for the big dance. I think I might start an official "I pussed out of the Thunderdome" list that you'll be lovingly added to if you crap out on your match without a good reason.

Also, can I assume correctly that when its judged we will all know our rank for that round other than just the winner of that round, so we can atleast talk crap to the opponent beneath our rank.

Keep in mind before this mother starts:

I am in the middle of a move, so I'm extremely fucking busy. Yes, I know it's the perfect time to start a contest of this size. I'm brilliant.

Two, the pairings and preparation for this first round is just going to be ginormous, I can tell. Bear with me while I compile all of the matches, make the ultra-official contest poster, etc.

Each of the four matches will take about 1 month to a month and a half, with a week or two for judging (lots of contestants, lots of battles to judge, lots of talented judge's schedules to accomodate) in between each round... if you can hang, by all means we want you around. You'll find that you can most likely squeeze out a nice piece of art in that amount of time.
