I"m doing work for this guy and he wants me to make about 5 small icons 48x48 how much do you think I should be charging?????!?!?

you should charge per hour and see how long it takes

Or do a sampler (that you can use in your portfolio afterwards) and see the time it takes, charge in consequence. It should not take long. Take the reworks in consideration.
