badass steve, badass. Nicely designed and the environment is hinted at perfectly without taking away from the character.
It's awesome to see some new stuff from you. keep us updated.

Awsome piece. Though when I scrolled down, I was alittle disappointed, I thought he was going to be monstorous, but he ended up having very short legs.

Well the lighting is superb and I love the rendering, but his legs are confusing me. Is he wading through debris? Or are his legs cut off at the knee and he has no feet? It's just a little unclear what is going on there and detracts from your overall picture for me. I'm totally loving the rest of it... the background is almost as kick-ass as the figure. :)

It looks like dust to me...am I right?

Hmm....maybe a mattress? and his feet are sunk in?
But the rest is awesome - great mood/ligthing and design.
Only crit besides the legs/feet is his right hand - looks a bit rushed and takes away from the piece...and it could be holding something or in his pocket like his left hand...
It almost feels like he's discovered something - maybe add an object on the floor where he's looking?
Hope to see more stuff from you

The legs are the only thing bother me as well. I could accept that they were emerged in murky water, if that yellowish elliptical base wasn't resting on a solid plane at the same level. The rest is pretty badass.

I pulled the legs more and added some attention to areas.
hope you like it better
this was more of a faster mindless painting then anything but ill pay more attention next time it was really early so i wasn't all their.

That's fricken awesome. What a great palette - don't think I've ever seen it used as well as that. At least not that I remember.

first time visiting this thread now, the update addressed the crits I had from the first image, great work!
to sell the "salvage" aspect of the character more, I think it might help if he had some tools/gear in his right hand or hanging from his belt: saws, cutting torch, maybe something resembling the jaws of life?

Didn't read through the other comments, but I think the left (His right) leg is just a bit too far back, makes him feel a bit off balance... perhaps just widen the pantleg a bit to the left would help.
LOVE the design, good mood and lights.
Good work!

This is great stuff, dude. What program did you do this in, and was there an original "sketch" doodle, or straight to color. I'd ove to see your process and know what bruches you used. I'm trying to get better at digital and am interested in others' approaches. Very nice.
