***TABLET PCs, Which one?***

Hello people,

I have an intuos2 4x5 and an ugly 17" monitor (1152x864) on a AMD 1.9gb with 1.5gb ram... the question is, i wanna upgrade my monitor BUT ,im thinking better to buy with more cash a tablet pc, (thus I want to work at home).

The problem is I dont have ANY idea about tablet pcs, i think with a 2gb cpu , 1 or 1.5 gb ram and a good 1024 pressure tablet pc pen i could work fine in home.
But i dont know nothing about tablet pc.. HP? Toshiba? dont know :(
I wanted have the same quality level that my old AMD xp, but portable.

I do not want to buy a tabletpc and another wacom, just one tabletpc with a cool pen including.

All you can see my paintings in my website, i dont want a tabletpc for sketching i wanna do the same render quality level.


I am thankful if anybody can give me a TIP

A friend help me with the english hahahah :D so here it is:

I'm new to the tablet pc world.

I was wondering if someone could direct me towards a tablet pc that has pressure sensitivity.

i need to be able to make a thin to thick line in programs like Photoshop CS and especially Corel painter 8.

I'm also looking for the tablet pc to have wifi, a keyboard and at least 1GB ram.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to what computer i should perhaps purchase?

I have a Toshiba WACOM Penabled Tablet PC. It's working fine for now. Has pressure sensitivity and everything. Best of all I can look at the screen and paint where I look as opposed to a standalone tablet. Has WIFI, 60g hdd, 512 RAM (updgradeable), swivelling 14.1" screen to lay flat and a pen that requires no batteries or wires. I run PS7 on it right now and has all the normal standard features of any other laptop PC. When I bought it last year it was around $1600. I'm sure you can find it cheaper now on Ebay or Craigslist.

As far as I know there aren't any Tablet PCs with 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity. I think the best they have now is 256 but that was a while ago. Also the resolution isnt as good as on a normal monitor and the price is a bit high for convenience of mobility imo.

your in the same boat as me, i think if you make sure it has a wacom digitizer you will be good.

try fujitsu siemens and toshiba portege.
