There was a friendly competition between CGchat and Polycount, in which I competed recently. The competition brief was to create a futuristic general. If you were aligned with Polycount, your general was evil, and if CGchat, then the side of good. My blood flows black and green, so I had to fight for Polycount. I really tried to push myself into new areas with the concept, spending much longer than I normally do. I have to move onto other projects, but I'd love to hear peoples thoughts. I'd normally post in the 3d gallery, but I'm interested in feedback at the concept level of the piece, even though the final is carried out in a 3d medium. Here are my final images:

i think this is great! i love the bulky sleeve things.. as well as her jacket. it's cool how you could keep the polygon count so low yet keep it looking so good. kinda brings me back to goldeneye for the 64 days for some reason

looks like a cross between star wars and a nazi soldier. but there was where star wars got its insperation from anyways.

looks great.

seems like you could use more polys and textures with todays standards, was there a limit to usage in this constest?

One question how did you get it to unwrap so nicely? Are you using 3ds or something else? maya? I have a problem with unwrapping especially that nicely. Any hints? I like her very nice
