This is an illustration I made for promotional purposes. I feel like the piece failed overall because the likeness isn't great. Part of that is because it is supposed to be present day Trent Reznor and not him 5 or 6 years ago which is how most people remember him (thinner, long hair...). The other reason is that as much as I'd like to be, I'm just not good with capturing people's likeness.
Anyway, I did the piece at pretty much full scale, maybe a little smaller, but pretty close to full size. I enjoyed working larger because most of my typical stuff tends to be smaller and more stylized, so forcing myself to be more realistic was a fun challenge. Again I know its certainly not a photo-real rendering of a face, but I did try to make it feel more life like than I normaly would with a small figure. Its made with sculpey, painted with acrylics. The teeth were made by making a mold of a pair of dentures, then I cast them with a clear resin. There is a blue light coming from behind the head to make the teeth glow.
Any feedback is welcome.

This may be just personal taste, but I really think you could have made his features more angular. A danger of creating caricatures is not having enough reference- sometimes having 2 or 3 pictures isn't enough. For what its worth, I took a whack at this fella's likeness, and I was pretty happy with the resemblance- http://webspace.ringling.edu/~jkendree/reznornet.jpg

I dunno if that helps at all- but I think even if he's less skinny than he was, he's still got long angular features.

I think the idea for the glowing teeth is pretty fun.
