I love the dune books and I wanted to design a cool stil suite.

I like the design of that armour. You'd think that a guy who has such fancy armour and knife could afford a cape that isn't torn to shreds at the bottom. Go figure.

You should shade his right arm (our left) a little darker in the bicep area because it appears as though it's in shadow under the cape. Darken it like the feet are dark.

Some of my work:

Nice work. Like the super-hero pose. And the tattered cape gives him desert-cred imo. Crying out for a background though. Something windswept and sandy of course.

Looks really great.
some crits -
-the guy is a desert kind of dude. the color scheme should
indicate that (using the existing colors which are good, only adding several "desert warm" color and overlay layers. )
-some more contrast + light and shade work is needed too.
-the white BG is a bit harsh, and some surounding color for the figure might help soften it down.
here`s what i mean (hope you don`t mind.):

that`s my 2 cents.
:)
keep it up.

...very nice..although he does need blue within blue eyes if he is a freman...I agree with chuck on giving the stillsuit more of a desert scheme of colors too

According to the book, the stillsuits are grey. However, I agree with Chuck on the desert-ish tinting, a warm sandy grey like he suggest.
Also, there's no white in fremen's eyes, their eyeballs are supposed to be entirely blue (except for the pupils).
IMHO you should add the nasal tubing. It was a vital and characteristic piece of the stillsuit. There are quite a few descriptions in the book that include the scar that the tubing leaves, being that a feature of a deep desert fremen.
For the rest, its looking reaaally good.

Hey, thanks for all the feedback. I really like the warmer treatment of my color scheme. You have definatly improved it in my opinion.

I think the stil suite could be rendered with a little more wear and tear but I dont notice that as much with the new colored version.

Thank you all for your sugestions.
