like the forward command post... somewhere where the troops all prepare for the coming battle - rest up and arm themselves... like a mobile 'base' of operations.

might do a bit more on this later...
Driven from their military installations, the resistance has had to convert commercial buildings to build maintain its forces in secret.
The large central plaza is ideal for staging troops before moving out to a battle.

I really like this picture Andrew. The buildings and the tower are just really, really well drawn. But I must say, I'm confused by the texture of the ground. Is it wet, or just really, really shiny? I think it looks wet, but then it doesn't appear to be raining or have just rained...

Yes - the floor is wet after a shower - I guess it could be a bit more overcast

From a British point of view thats the colour of the sky after raining, silly grey colour... haunts my journeys to the super market, waiting till i've just got too far too go back *shakes fist*

In homage to andrew's sketch method, I started this random WIP. Hopefully I can expand on it, but due to workload constraints might have difficulty completing this week's EOW....
Gotta love your work andy....great to see you explode artistically, exponentially

Now to make up a description:
In the year 2067, Walmart finally seceded from the UNA. Not one to take this lightly, the UNA forces staged an all out offensive against the Walmartian mother store, Walmartia 6. The forward base of operations for this offensive was located deep within the heart of Walmartia 6's 1000 acre parking lot.

Andrew it's nice, its just the file size is a little big in my opinion, and it wouldn't be as strong a piece if it were made smaller. The left side of the floor/buildings are off in perspective, atleast it looks that way to me. Nice textures though with the reflections.

hey everyone.. i just got a full time job doing conceptart for games.. along with other design work, at a studio here in sydney. Unfortunately the hours i have to work cover the hours EOW needs to be updated, and im strung out with so much work!!
So I have appointed red_rook as a new administrator of ca.org.. and he will be running eow. It has been a great first four rounds... and maybe now i can find an hour or two to compete, instead of organise this thing ;)
I will still be around to answer questions and help out of course...
Cheers boys n girls

Forward Staging Ground:
This vast underground structure houses numerous rogue militant groups who were forced to share resources in order to defend themselves. The enormous lifting platform was hastily pieced together to handle the increasingly large machinery that are built to keep their enemies at bay.

A rebellion has occured outside the desert nation of Faluj, and allied rebels have overtaken the recently built space elevator; one of the four in the world and hold transports into and out of Faluj at gun point. Armed with basic munitions and some mechanised weapons platform, they await the inevitable airstrike from beyond the sky

for a lot of years the army has been using this cavy structure as a staging ground when attacking the leviathans cave. there is an invicible forceshield at the big opening where they can see attacks in good time, and the leviathans themselves are to big to enter though the small tunnels for boats and airships, and the small goons the soldiers are able to push back. at the moment the army is preparing to make a raid on the camp. the harbour for the boats are deeper in the staging ground.
