I've looked through search on this site but I seem to have come short from what I wanted. Right now, I have recently recieved 3ds max 7 and was wondering if anyone knew of any tutorials that I could use, or if they could just explain to me how to create objects using it.

Start with the help files.

Then explore www.cgtalk.com.

Well max ships with a bunch of usefull tutorials. They're located under the file menu's Help > Tutorials. Once you get through them and know the basics then you can find more advanced tutorials all over the net. Honestly I'd upgrade to max 8... there are some really nice new features that've been added. You can d/l the demo here:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=5972446

Even the demo comes with all the tuts and ref files you need. If you're approaching 3d in more of coneptual way... meaning if you want to just flesh out your ideas in 3d (not neccessarily for games or movies) I'd highly suggest giving zbrush a try... its alot more natural feeling for traditional artists, whereas MAX may feel more intimidating for the beginner.

3DS Max's Tutorials are great. If you cannot work with those, then check out Lynda.com. They're fast-paced, but intuitive tutorials.

Good luck.

BTW, Max's boolean operations suck ass. You might want a plug-in for that.
