GIVEN CONCEPT:

CC Evil Supply Creature:

We need a supply creature for the evil faction. This fellow needs to be pretty huge, slow-moving and have some way to carry trees, masonry and other supplies about. We're in a classic fantasy setting, but we don't want to see any trolls or giant orcs! Remember the evil faction's identifying colours are red and black - we need both to be obvious in your design.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
possessed:
concept: Okadon
The larger these beasts get, the more weight they can carry. They can be seen strolling around the ravaged landscape pulling a cart made of bones and wood. The Rejnic load these carts with prisoners, trees for stoking the fires of their hellpits and other supplies for their evil ways.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
AndrewLey:
concept: The towering Naadsakk beasts can easily cross even the most hostile terrain, with their long and powerful legs. Massive amounts of war supplies can be suspended from the animals back allowing easy access for the ground crew.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Teigrob:
concept: For all your seige machine-building needs, look no further than model XXLPachyQ9: he slashes, he trims, and he neatly loads the heavy logs onto the waiting wagon pulled conveniently behind him (wagon not included) for your expendable battlefodder to pull into place! From the celebrated black labs of those finest purveyors of magical creatures: Mssrs Bimswanger & Tiddlepunk.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
gitsune:
concept: The catterpillar unit is slower and has lower defenses than the supply unit of the good faction (giant komodo dragon thing.) However it makes up for these drawbacks by it's ability to climb steep surfaces with it's full load. Also, if you spend some ressources on it, it can coccoon and turn into a giant moth bomber ready to drop deadly phosphorus balls on the enemy.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Evil_Sloth:
concept: As the tribes of the west an east congrigated into the centre of the great plains they made peace with eachother and began building fortresses to protect their alliance from the wild raiders.
To supply these huge fortifications giant wulrons were chosen because of their emense size and there ability to lubricate the ground with glands on their fins and slide across the emense plains with ease.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Azrael:
concept: Discovered deep inside the volcanic caverns of the black planet. Due to it's sole diet of sulfer rich volcanic rock, it's stench is know to kill any living plants within a 50 feet radius. When fed rich sulferous rock this mighty beast can pull over three hundred times it's own weight. Max speed for this creature without a load is about 3 knotts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
gothfox:
concept: Used by Evil Armies everywhere for it's immense strength and size. Once tought only to be a giant pest until it was tamed and trained to haul supplies or even Armies to their next battle grounds. this beastie can also protect your cargo by showering attackers with a molten secretion. Perhaps you would like to transport your castle to a new land and conquer the weak.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Danilo:
concept: Bearephant
Half bear, half elephant, naturaly greyish colour but coloured in red for military reasons (fear, agresion and so). His head is tied up so he cant feel nothing but painable orders of his master. They left just proboscis enter free, so he can eat his liquid meal.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
wassermelone:
concept: The Brobdingnagian
These huge beasts were never natural. The dark magics used by the Empire twisted many creatures, but perhaps none with such... unforseen consequences as the Brobdingnagian. The size of it was initially unintended but quickly studied and turned to a beast of war. But the optimal size for speed and aggressiveness was quite a bit smaller than the Brobdingagian. Yet just because of the sheer size of the thing it was still immensely hard to kill and was turned to supplying the armies of the Empire. So immense that many times it never even noticed the enemy attacking it...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
MIKECORRIERO:
concept: This giant beast was a cross-breed specially designed by the evil faction, an elite group of murderers and thieves. The Red Faction is a monstrosity created to haul lumber, masonry, cannons, and weapons. Although the Red Faction is slow it makes up for its lack of speed through shear brute strength. On top of its massive size and colossal strength, the Red Faction is equipped heavily in spiked armor, not that it would necessarily need it, if it were ever attacked.
http://pratt.edu/~mcorrier/random/redfaction-web.jpg
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oregano:
concept: The Dhrakava is the main munitions and siege craft transport used by the Army of the Four Swords from the northern reaches of the Dhaggorlands.
In it's natural habitat, the temperate deserts to the east, the Dhrakava lives in herds feeding on local vegetation and migrating with the seasons.
Demonstrating their brutality, the Army of the Four Swords breed the beasts to feed on the slain foes and captured enemies who are ill fit for slavery. Dhrakava Keepers (shown lower right) sharpen the beasts teeth as they grow to accomodate their adjusted diet. Their horns and headplate are frequently decorated by their Keepers to designate both the clans they belong to and often the campaigns they have seen. These horns and plates are closely guarded treasures of the Keeper Clans.
In subjugating the Dhrakava, the beast is ritually run through with it's pulling aparatus, thus sealing it's fate, and identity, as a beast of burdon of the Army of the Four Swords.
Dhrakava live roughly 30 years, and are about as intelligent as dogs, capable of following simple monosyllabic voiced commands. They can haul up 20 tons of equipment seven to twelve miles a day in good weather. What they lack in speed they make up in strength.
The Dhrakava pictured above is hauling a Four Swords seige engine. The Four Swords Army is seen in the background moving out from the capitol of Ahvelkava in the high mountain desert of Umbrak in the Dhaggorlands.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carnifex:
concept: The Huurrk
Is a damn stubborn bird. It's very mean aswell, and thus still pretty valuable in battle against material thiefs. It's used by the evil faction for transporting trees and other stuff. Usually it has a mark on it by the appropriate owner.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b363/siansaar/evilsupply.jpg
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
princeofhappiness:
concept: Ruuk, The Red Giant
Ruuk lived deep in the caves of the northern caverns of Krah'nal in solitude. The Kshaar people, known for their infinitely evil ways, travelled for years in order to hunt this great beast. After a decade of struggle, they finally managed to render the beast hypnotised and unable to retaliate, using a specially crafted clasp which they fastened around him. Now this great beast is the fortune of the Kshaar, and is used for carrying its warriors and materials.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
br0ken_spirit:
concept: The basic supply unit for the Evil Faction is large and slow moving. The creature has four additional arms on its back, which it uses to grab and carry on its back trees, masonry, and other supplies. It can also carry prisoners.
These arms are also the primary melee weapon of the supply unit, it can strike multiple adjacent enemies at the same time.
I figured that at the start of the game, to protect against early rushes, some kind of defense mechanism is necessary. For the Evil Faction, a few supply units would be protection enough since they would be the only supply units to strike multiple targets (and also deal a moderate amount of damage). Since they are slow moving this prevents them from being used as regular troops, but for defence purposes, the main structure could give them a speed bonus for a short time, that way they can move quickly enough through the base to repel invaders. The speed bonus would have a cooldown time before it can be used again, and its effects last for a certain amount of time (enough time to defend the base).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
RES:
concept: The Giant blubber grubs were first used to clear paths for the evil armys, the grubs will eat everything in their path using its tendrils to up root trees and rock which they would swallow hole making wide paths in forests and rocky canyons.
It was later realised that the slow digestion sacks which broke through the grubs back stored these useful resources, which the grub would digest over many months.
The grubs keepers found they could easliy rupture the sacks using their herding spears spilling the now sticky resoures ready for use.
Although this creature is an omnivore many a Grub keeper have lost their life by getting caught within its tendril’s.

concept: ZA FATE CLOWN
Can you pray before a clown?
There are only rummors of this evil suplier. It is said to be the one that brings the dawns of every major battle on which they show.
It's the only creature that is capable to find the enourmous mana trees from which the evils have extracted the horrible poisons.
They come so rarely with such a load that only their appearance decides the fate of one battle.
On every major war where those creature managed to show once.. it was the end.
The evil faction fixed them to look like clowns since the ennemies can't even pray, and the powerful snorring sound they make sounds like a crazy smile.
You can't even say your prayer.. it's... it's... ridiculously hopeless.
At the bottom of the huge round mask they ware a green field.. where ussualy a pack of sheeps or boars (depending on the region) are keeping him company... the price for one of those small creatures that were rised on the Fate Clown... is enourmous. Hunters go crazy to hunt there...

nightfend:
concept: Tharmidon War Beast - This massive creature is a strong and virtually tireless work beast. It's six strong legs make it ideal as a beast of burden for carrying large amounts of supplies. It is generally considered a tamed beast, but the creatures have still been known to go on murderous rampages on occasion.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lord Blue:
concept: This is a very typical Hedral Beast, best known for its violent stampedes in the wild. This specimen, through the use of magical seals, has been enslaved into servitude for the Dark Empire. Being intelligent beasts, they need no rider to drag their cargo to its destination, but then again, no one dares attempt to ride these tempermental beasts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
flatliner:
concept: The three legged, marsh dwelling Sconmolin's were once elegant creatures which waded through the waters, feeding on what swam in the emerald pools . Now enslaved by the evil empire these magnificent beasts have been twisted and tormented into a shadow of their former glory. Reared from birth, they are forced to obey their every whim, hauling supplies that they strap to its sides and hung below its body.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
BlkCelebration:
concept: These normaly tame creatures are used by the evil faction not only because of their great strenght but because their passive nature makes them easy to control. Eventually the bad treatment they receive makes these gentle giants into dangerous creatures.

I voted for Oregano's because it is the most dynamic: so much life and power! The rendering is beautiful too.

ps, hey Fozzy, some pics were posted twice, and some not at all (and I don't mean Gruuu's) glitch?

pps, and can I just put in a plug for C.O.W.? Although it was thoroughly intimidating to see the competition, I loved the variety of concepts everyone came up with. It's very inspiring, and a great way to get the creative juices flowing!

in the end i voted for oregano aswell, because it's convincing enough, though it looks terribly much like a dinosaur and he blatantly took the names and evil guys from lotr.
i considered mike's aswell, but those green shadows just ain't doing it for me.
fozzy's was a close one too,but he slid too much on his stomach for my taste.:P

[edit]My wife says I should be nicer in my responses. She says that I shouldn't bite anyone's head off like I did below. She says that I should explain that my language is influenced by Tolkien, but that I spend a great deal of time coming up with original names and that I should ask nicely for you to show me where I allegedly pulled the names from his work.
[end edit]

Original comments removed by the wife censoring committee, and Carnifex's head lovingly reattached.

PS - and I mentioned that the base idea for the creature design was a ceratopsian dinosaur (seeing as how there were several species of them, not just the triceratops).

thanx for putting my head back in it's place.
dhaggorland? (argh dunno spelling).
it's used in the "battle for middle-earth" game. (i'm not sure though if the spelling's the same).
i have read about the relationship thing you mentioned. it still looks like one. :P
no offense.

Okay, before I came up with it, I had never heard of it before. I have the books and the DVD's, but no game stuff - the closest I came to owning any Middle Earth game stuff was back about 15 years ago when I borrowed a friends I.C.E. Middle Earth role playing game. So, unless it out of the core four books (The Hobbit, FoTR, TT, RoTK, I haven't seen it.

Yes, it looks like a dinosaur because it *is* a dinosaur (doh!).

Oregano - I voted for yours because the creature really looks like its pulling something heavy, and the rendering is wonderful, there is great color harmony.

I also love the brush strokes. What program(s) did you use?

One thing I would change, (not critical) is if the polls were wedged into the creatures hide, wouldn't that make it hard for the animal to move?

It was a toss up between Oregano and Andrew Ley. In the end, I voted AndrewLey's because it looked a bit more original. It was 51/49.

The face is just very nice :)

Oregano: I really love the force portayed in your pic. Well done, noone else really has that.

AndrewLey, cool concept and rendering man. I dug your piece quite a bit... my vote for this round again goes to MIKECORRIERO though. Very cool concept and I love the design of the creature's headdress. The piece looks great to brotha, nice work!

Here's how it goes, you're awarded stars in each category based on how well you executed all the criteria from the description. Maximum amount of stars is *****
Here's how I will judge the concepts:
evil: Does the creature look vicious, could it maul it's enemy into a bloody pulp or might it have other nasty traits.
huge, slow-moving: size, how fast would it walk either while carrying supplies or roaming freely
some way to carry supplies about: originality and would it really work?
classic fantasy: I won't just look at the background since not everyone has one but I'll take clothing and materials in account.
identifying colours present: in the creature, flag, faction people, you name it. important is how the colours are integrated into the design.
If you have very high or maybe lower ratings this does not mean I like or dislike the render. I'll come back to that later.

My favorites from this bunch are: (concept - render - originality)
BlkCelebration 8.0
nightfend 8.5
RES 8.0
MIKECORRIERO 8.8

Mike, your style continues to amaze me every COW, I'm glad to see the creativity in this one. the only crit I have is I would have liked to see the people have a slightly more sinister or evil look. Simply travelling through the murky night isn't enough imo.

Special note to Panda: I really liked the design and how you incorporated the colors and the cool evil faction insignia. I just wish there was more detail put into this and if it was crawling along some rocks or so.

But Fozzybar get it as it for fills all the rules and made me smile.

Very, very hard decision this round. I couldn't decide between Andrew Ley, Oregano, qitsune and Fozzybar.
Visually, the one I liked the most was Oregano's, I think its an awesome image. But, since this round was specific for concepting a creature for a game or a movie or whatever, I thought the actual concept was as important as the representation, or more. quitsune's was the most original this round I think, nearly everybody made a a big, heavy quadruped animal. I liked the idea that the caterpillars could climb cliffs and if it were for a game, spending resources to get an advanced offensive aereal unit later sounded very cool. My biggest concern is that the image looks too sketchy! well, the creatures which are the main subject are rendered, but the surroundings still are sketchy, I think you could have rendered at least a little those figures on the ground or work on the background a bit more. Still, if this were for a game, I think the modellers could make models from this image, so the concept works.

Fozzy that creature looks cool, but you could have written at least some kind of description. The highlights on the arm look a bit sketchy, maybe a bit more blending could have been used.

possessed, I'm really liking you're entry. Crit is that you could have added some cast shadows on the ground. The textures on its body look very nice. Maybe he could have used a bit more lighter areas too

I like how Andrew Ley's carries the supplies below the stomach as opposed to on the back. Very nice image too.

Everyone else, good entries, some look a bit sketchy, so double the effort for the next cow (myself included). But overall it was a great week, see you in round 23. Cheers.

Oregano got my vote here, but the only reason he did and not wassermelon, was the fact that Oregano's picture is much more unified, detailed and complete. I like the creature is wasser's pic more, but the picture itself is more of a sketch then anything else.

Great work everyone. :)

Wow. A lot more entries than I thought we had…

Possessed
I like the critter design – reminds of something like a really mean hyenna. However, the one thing that threw me was the teeth – this animal is naturally a predator or a scavenger, which typically speaking make poor transport animals (though not always, as we’ve seen with Alaskan Huskies when used for sled dogs. Canines are naturally pack animals, so have the predisposition to work together. This being a single animal, and kind of looking like a dog, we can get around that).

AndrewLey
This is the most disturbing pic out of the bunch in my opinion, and therefore visually my favorite. I wish there was a lot more time put into the description, because I really think it could go a long way to help understand just what this thing is.

Teigrob
I love your description. Humor always works. However, I would have liked to have seen more color on the beast. Interesting twist on the elephant, giving it an extra pair of legs. I’d be interested to know how it got them – evil wizard, fluke of evolution, genetic manipulation from a technological, but forgotten past?

Gitsune
These guys definitely meet the criteria for being slow moving. I would have liked to have seen a little more time spent on the picture, but it serves well enough to get the idea across. I love the fact that the enemy has a “giant komodo dragon thing” as their transport beast.

Evil_Sloth
Eewww… Fanged slugs! The rendering could use a little more time spent on it, but otherwise it worked. I did like the Yellow/red/green scheme.

Azrael
Cool line drawing – reminds me very much of a wood cut. This thing definitely looks like it could haul a load, though I’d hate to be the animal handler.

Gothfox
My biggest challenge with this one is there’s no reference point; I visually can not tell how big it is. It might be an idea to include some sort of reference point as a measure of size the next time.

Danilo
Good quick sketch – to me this is simple, but solid and conveys the idea fairly quickly without the need for a lot of backing explaination. However, some background information on the animal itself would have been good.

Panda
I can’t tell what this is… :(

wassermelone
Good over all concept. The background on the creature itself really helps and goes a long way to helping understand how something like this could be. The color was a good choice (almost Gieger-esque), and really conveyed an eerie feeling.

MIKECORRIERO
Needless to say, I favor illustrations that include a background scene, and this one does wonderfully. The idea was fairly solid as well, but what threw me was the description. I wasn’t sure if you were describing the red faction, or the creature. A faction is a group or an organization, so I was a little confused…

Carnifex
Fairly solid rendering, though the color came across rather dark, and I think some heavier outlines would have helped. Love the frustration of the animal handlers and the opening sentence in the description.

Princeofhappiness
I had a hard time telling what the creature is. It looks like (perhaps) a red lizard of some sort… The main thing that is missing from this is some sort of reference point – I can’t tell how big the critter is.

br0ken_spirit
This was the best thought out and described beast of the bunch. The rendering could use some work, but compared to some industry stuff I’ve seen, it works well enough.

RES
I think my biggest challenge here was once the supplies is removed from the sack, it’s covered with slime, but is described as “ready to use”. I personally wouldn’t want to touch it! Otherwise, solid illustration, but a bit dark.

Oblio
I love the picture, which I considered to be rendered very well – however I could not make heads or tails out of your description.

Nightfend
Excellent rendering. The basics are there – what it does and it’s size, though it does look like it can move a lot faster than “slow”. The main issue that I have is using a predator (judging by its teeth) as a supply animal – it looks like it’s ready to eat the enemy, not supply the troops.

Lord Blue
The biggest challenge was the rendering – For me the colors were too similar, and certain aspects were just a tad too soft. I am curious as to why no one dares to ride the animals – being tempermental doesn’t quite seem enough.

Flatliner
This was another instance of not being able to tell what the creature is or does just from the illustration. I had to read the description before it made any real sense to me.

BlkCelebration
Really solid rendering, and it definitely looks like a pack animal, although again, I’m not sure what size the thing is.

Fozzybar
It’s red. It’s black. And it’s pulling a load with it’s well developed gluteus maximus! (either that or misplaced testicles!). Great rendering, but where’s the description?

A few notes on creature habits: Animals used for carrying supplies were typically hebavores or omnivores because they usually live in packs or herds, which means that they are used to working with other creatures to begin with. A predator is, except in rare cases, a solitary animal.

In the end, I chose br0ken_spirit's because his seemed to be thought out the most. Mike's ran a very close second, followed by Andrew's.

Good round peoples.

Cheers,
~Oreg.

It was between Mike & Oregano at first, but after looking at all of the pictures and looking more at the creature itself I went with andrewley. I thought his creature was different and how it transported the resources was a cool concept.

hmmm....some members wonder where the description for my entry is...well there exists already a concept...as we said in the original thread, we didn't need a description this time...

I voted for AndrewLey. The illustration is rendered very well, but more importantly, it had a very original creature design with the thing carrying it's cargo underneath it. Plus I just really like the camera angle and perspective of the piece. The creature looks big.

My second pick would be Mike C's. The illustration is amazing (as all his pieces are) and he really looks like the kind of creature an evil faction would use to haul stuff around.

Oregano thank you for your comments and voting :D
You're right... it needs a lot more work on the rendering. I'm working on it, one step at a time :^^;:

Thanks again.

Hi. Best beasts for me are:

Mikeoccoriero: Woderfull colours and materials. Perspective is a bit off, and this beast seams too powerfull and mean for carrying stuff.

AndrewLey: Great image, rendering, colours... Too mean for my taste :( (reminds me on book DUNE, wich I dont like)

FozzyBar: Fresh, but not logic. At first it dont look slow.

Oregano: I think that pulling cargo isnt good idea for a game. It is too complicate to move this unit ower the screen.

Blkcelebration: Nice concept, but not showed well. You should shoot whole beast instead cutting its parts.

wassermelone: My vote. Great sf beast. Exelent head. Maybe bout is lil naive, and rendering looks unfinished.

Cheers

Some cool stuff here this week ! Didn't have time to do one this week :( - which is annoying since this seemed the most interesting COW topic so far.....

anyway I voted for Moniseur Ley - it was the the closest I feel to the description, the rendering was top notch and it looked the most original concept, though it looks more like a gazelle than a slow moving creature ! Plus I have to vote for a fellow Brit ;)

I voted for Mike - its a solid concept and its well presented, although I think it lacks something to set it apart as a truly unique design.

I really like Oregano's - you can really feel the power of the animal. As I consider this a design challenge though, I felt it was too close to a dinosaur and the poles look like they would snap off. As an illustration though its great.

I think I would have voted for Fozzy's if it were more finished as it is very different looking.

I think BlkCelebration's could also have been very cool with more time spent on it.

wassermelone - cool design just needed more work

Well done everyone

My vote goes for MIKECORRIERO...it meets all demands of the concept...is greatly rendered, cool presented and has a very conceptartsy touch...

This is the best entry so far from you...i like that it's looking more like a creature this time...you got the "most improved artist" award :) keep it up!!!

Danilo
I love the sketchy style! It looks like a rough sketch for the client to show all features he demanded with the concept....very dynamic and vivid!

I voted for Andrew - he posted soon enough to inspire us all.. and his creature seems lovely.
I'm under heavy fire... barely have the time to check the forums...

I voted for Teigrob, because his piece looks totally original, done masterfully and makes me wanna know about the story behind it. Besides, I get scared easily :) and can't vote in this condition :). If I could I would add gitsune, Danilo, Azrael. I like their work very much too.
Sveta Dudetta.
P.S. I'm just kind of worry if I pushed the right button, the bars are too close for me and it happened very fast.

When I first saw Andrew Ley's, I thought I'd have to vote for his for sure. But then I saw Oregano's and I had to change my mind. Love dinosaurs, love Tolkien, what more could you ask for? Of course it helps that this is probably the strongest piece of seen from Oreg. They dynamic composition and sense of motion and weight really won me over, as well as the rendering around the creature's face. nice job my friend

I voted for AndrewLey's because it I thought it was the strongest pic. Also it looked pretty terrifying.

Well done all! :rendered:

A tough choice as always. As soon as I saw AndrewLey's peice I thought it had my vote. The sheer size and design of the creaure leaves no dought about its purpose or alliance. However, MIKECORRIEROs swung it for me though. I think its the sutble touchs, the background, the armour, it all felt more believeble. You get my vote.

Close behind was wassermelone, the design and description was one of the most orginal creatures here. Also BlkCelebration, whos rendering was just spot on.

Oregano Thanks for the crit, Il be sure to work on my stuff , if not for this c.o.w, the one to follow. its really appreciated :) .

My vote is for Andrewley. No reason to explain myself really - the creature is very well designed it can`t be mistaken for anything other than an evil supply carrier. Even the little sketchy dudes look badass :]

Thanks to all the comments I recieved on mine. I agree that the size is not quite clear (should of shown a clan dude for comparison....should'a, could'a, would'a ) haha... the croppig was pretty dumb on my part as well..

Great stuff this round. I enjoyed the restricted topic guideliness; lets do it again!

I voted for MIKECORRIERO (for like the 5th time!). Your stuff always inspires me. The creature is believable, looks bad-ass (with head gear n'all), and if I was the client I would of picked this piece right off the bat. Keep 'em coming.

OK, I loved Ley's,oblio's and wassermelone's, but I had to go with Mike's. Maybe cause it's my first vote, and I'm really partial to his style. And though the others were incredibly creative, I thought his would fit the project best. Kickin work all around, I think I'm gonna get in on this weeks, I already got my crapmuncher started.

Thanks for the feedback Possessed and Oregano.

I am just suprised that my pic didn't get a better response. It wasn't quite up there with AndrewLey's Mike's or Oregano's, but I thought it was worth a few. Oh well, more fuel for the fire.

Bitch session over. :blahblah:

A difficult vote again...

I voted for Oregano because I think the creature looks fantastic - big, slow, evil. I really like the background and I think the whole scene is very dynamic. I also think the painting is very well done. The other two pics I was considering include Andrew Ley's beast which is just magnificent. Excellent work! I also think Mike Corriero's creature looks fantastic. Very well painted. In the end, I decided on Oregano's pic - I like the style and overall, his painting was my fave.

Ideas I liked a lot:

Azrael, I thought your idea was great! Loved the beast :)

Fozzybear, he's almost cute

I also like Carnifex's concept. It's a little different from everyone else's idea and I think it's fun.

Great work :)

It took one hour and 48 minutes to load with my piece of shit 28k, but it was worth it.

Kudos to everyone. Well done.

BrOk3nSpirit...a close second for me.

...and a vote for AndrewLey...

I'm an illustrator first, but I forced myself not to let that get in the way of the requirements. I simply looked for the best solutions to the problem, no matter what it looked like, then went for execution between those.

Now I'm pissed I still don't have my new comp...

AndrewLey's CD seemed the most likely to be an evil supply creature. The size of the creature is a large factor in my desicion considerring what it is expected to transport. Most of the other concept creatures seem too small to effictively fulfill the purpose. In addition to how efficiently it works, the depiction of the creature is well done.
