Alright I'm starting to get frustrated when coloring now. Now that I'm trying to paint more realisticly i'm finding it very difficult to pick and choose my colors. Especially when it comes to painting flesh. Sometimes I get it right on ocassion, but it takes me forever and ever to get what i want, or at least what looks right to me.

I've read the tutorial on Color Theory by Fredflickstone here on the forums and I thought it help me great and first, but now i feel lost again. I was wondering if there are any great books on color theory that I should buy? Or if anybody can give me a some direction that would be kick-arse.

Here's a work n progress to better show u where I'm at.

An Oc session. My worst enemy is working with pinks, I find it hard to find the right mixture of colors to use with them so it always ends up looking rubbery or plastic.

Study from life, and when painting in photoshop understand that the saturation and hue effect the value. Try painting in grayscale or take some of your favorite artworks and convert them into gray scale. Think of the planes that you are painting and take note of the relationships of the values with the planes of different materials. Start simple and build relationships with your colors ( saturation, value ) and then add more planes and so on. You will get it eventually if you study.
