I love the dichotomy of the colors, versus the subject. That is one delightfully lovable and round wolfy.

excellent lighting job! Chubby-mid-air-cute-wolfey :)
I would've maybe used a bit more of the blue streaming out his eyes so that it would convey more omogenity (is that the word? :) ) but thats just a thought

I agree! So fun. The pose and design makes me think of a flying squirrel ("And now for something you'll really like!").

Anyhow the whole back end looks unfinished

Sakona-
What are you doing posting your work in someone else's thread out of now where with no comment or anything? You've got a thread of your own to pollute.
RobG-
I like the colors a lot in this, I think compositionally the wolf could be positioned on the page better, instead of smack dab in the center, but the rendering and color choices I feel are quite nice. Don't be afraid to let his tail go off the page. I think it could look better than having it look broken.

I most certainly agree with the colors, they are gorgous, great job. Dispite the fact that he has razor sharp claws and could kill anyone, he looks like a peaceful wolf because of the colors you have chosen and really no facial expression. You did a nice job of generating form and value. Some nice dimension and nice brush strokes.

hey thats acually very nice. simple and effective. Seems like the linework is great too.. can we see that, if you still have it...?
sakuna - you should edit that post, removing your image link. Thread hijacking is not nice. even for a newbie...

Im well aware, there are just afew spot in the back that, unless Im reading the current proportions and shading wrong, should have a hint of pink in them. There are also afew spots in the back that seem dulled out when they should be highlighted more with your secondary cyan lightsource:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/ryanwh/notmine7.jpg
And they're all located in the back, hence my opinion of it looking half finished. And yes Im aware of the angle, that he's coming forward, which I guess is why it gets less highlights further back, but since the tail is bent the way you bent it, it seems to be coming forward again, hence it needs highlights. And for the other highlights, Im only talking about hints more of cyan and hues of pink, not the bright stuff on the face.

Love the colours! I don't think the back of the animal goes with the front though. The rear looks like a cute squirrel's heh.
