Awesome job man, if you're going to paint it I think getting the staff in between his fingers is going to be tough.

Thanks, he's acctually based off of the CG version seen in Attack of the Clones and the upcoming Revenge of the Sith. He's acctually completely hollow too, if anyone was wondering. He's made out of ceramic cone 10 solidate clay.

Make sure you're modeling his eyes off of Albert Einstein's.

I like it. I think you did a good job with the expression in the face. One crit that I would add is that his gesture doesn't really convey his age. He seems to look really rigid and erect. I was wondering if you were going for a younger version of Yoda?

Acctually I was inndeed going for the younger, more vigorous Yoda found in the new films. I was acctually taking his stance almost directly from when he enters the hangar in Attack of the Clones. He stands mutch like in the sculpture after Count Dooku says, "Master Yoda..." and Yoda responds, "Count Dooku..." It's almost like he could have said, "Yes, bad I am..."

Sure, but just keep in mind that that's just 40 years off of the life of a 900-year-old frog with ears. :bashful:

I am really digging the texture work. You really managed to make the robes look like cloth, which is something I really need to work on.

I'm having trouble getting some real quality images up. But I hope to have something within the next 24 hours. :bashful:

Okay, I know that I said I'd have these up sooner. The first batch of pics I took were too blurry. Thankfully, patience payed off. The coloring is a mixture of ceramic oxides on the clothing. The face is a mixture of various shades of acrylic craft paint that I spent about 5 days on and off layering. He's definately one of my pride and joys.

Thank you so much. Cone 10 Solidate Ceramic Clay. One of two types I could buy from my school's student store. I'm in the process of expanding my medium horizons...For more realistic results. My instructor said that I've almost pushed this clay's limits, so I need something that will suit my growing skills. (It's the 5th maquete sculpture I've made).
