The tutorials on the site are great, but I'm curious if anyone has come by a book that shows step by steps on character design, specifically coloring, in photoshop? I saw a book for painter in my local bookshop but nothing of the sort for photoshop. I'm having trouble getting my images to look polished and though there are tutorials out there, they are scatterd and most skip alot of steps.
Thanks in advance for any help.

one tip is to have a top layer set to multiply using either a pencil sketch or whatever kind of drawing you want....then use layers underneath to paint in any way see fit. There is no real secret to digital painting...the rules pretty much run the same as with traditional media....except for maybe gravity and having to wait for it to dry

Hey there!
I noticed Charles River Media has a book out, but it's primarily for Painter. I'm not a huge CRM fan, but check it anyhow:

If you want another great eye-candy book dedicated to all manner of character design - primarily with a design and branding bent - check out Pictoplasma by the awesome German publisher Die Gestalten Verlag. Not how-to, but highly recommended.

Hope this helps!
