former calgarian here. If you wanna meet a group of artists,check out the calgary thread at the poomeets section in the eatpoo forums. You gotta register to view the info for the poomeets though. But they got a bunch of good artist there. Look out for tom and isric,who seem to be the best of the bunch artistically.

New on the lingo here. Sketchgroup? sounds like hanging out at the local coffee shop and doodling. I'm down but it is just a matter of figuring out when and where. Last time I headed out to a local sketch group I ended up in the middle what was a cross between a pyramid scheme and some bad mojo comic book guys. Heh I also forgot my wallet. Just wasn't my night I guess?

HAR HAR. To tell you the truth the only Canadian Hockey fans that I don't Despise with great fervor are Habs and Oilers fans. Every one else are just scum! Oilers fans are just misguided but I respect them b/c they are at least albertans and they did have some really good years back in the 80's. heh heh.

When this thread was started it looked like there was some interest but so far I've had the sketch club going now for a couple of months and only local non CA people are comming out. I have not heard tale of an edmontonian posting besides yourself but the odds are that they exist... If I ever hear of one I'll point em in your direction. In the meantime you can post here. I don't mind and some good natured hockey jibes mixed in with art talk is never dull.

Speaking of sketch club. this week is off gang. I'm going to the home opener but it should be on next week. Same time, Same place.

Just wondering when the next sketch meet was going to be (Oct 13 @ 7pm?)/location etc (I'm not sure where the Timmy's you're talking about is - the one on 46 Ave SE?)

I'll be truthful, my drawing isn't all that good, I'm more of a sculpture/maya modeller type, but I need to get my illustration skills up, so maybe I could pick your brains at the meet. (I think I need practice more than anything)

C'mon down! No we won't be having a sketchclub tonight but maybe next week. It doesn't matter what your skill level is at. It's just about sitting around and doodling some and talking shop. We meet at the Timmy Hoes on Blackfoot Trail. THe only one and it is on the east side by a Mary Browns and a Taco time. I'm not sure the cross st. but you can't miss it.
